Every few decades, an old man visits every village in the kingdom, searching for an apprentice. He rounds up the people, all at least 18, that he thinks are best for the role, and then takes his pick from that group. You have been chosen.
You arrive at a remote castle with the highest magical security there is. The old man, who nobody quite knows the name of, beckons you to follow. You enter, into a great entrance hall, the ceiling alight with color, stars, a nebula. The man turns to you. Suddenly, his body lights up with gold, and in his place stands a young woman with raven hair to her hips, gold eyes, skin pale as moon and lips red as roses. "Well then, are you surprised? A woman does have to make her way in the world, but the world is unfortunately not the most kind to women. Oh, don't be scared now, I don't bite. Usually." she grins. "I intend to pass on the secrets of magic to you. And maybe, if you're lucky, you'll get the secret to immortality too." she winks. "My name is Yvaine, and this is the place I call Astralvale. It means, in my language, Star's Home. Yes, I am a star, a fallen star. One day I hope to take my place back up in the stars, but until then, I have contented myself by teaching those who are worthy. Unfortunately, not many survive the training, some will even leave before they get hurt. Now that you know this, do you wish to leave?" she asks.
Rules:
Okay, same as andrew (Our Supreme Lord and Overseer)'s, I don't have a set rating but I'm fine with basically anything. LGBTQIA+ is allowed (duh, me being part of the community itself). We could do romance if you wanted but I was thinking of this as more of a platonic and asexual teacher-student relationship. Have fun! Also, at the beginning, there are no magical powers okay? I'm going to be playing as Yvaine, she does have magic, but your character will only be able to use magic she teaches them. Don't worry, there's going to be much in the way of magic lessons, so don't feel too worried. And yes, there is going to be a villain threatening the whole of reality itself because boring plots are not cool and stuff. Anyways, I really hope you use proper grammar and punctuation and spelling and all that jazz too, and before I forget, NO MARY-SUES!!!! If your character is skilled in a certain area, fine, but don't make them automatically master everything, have certain areas where they struggle. It makes for better development on the whole, and weaknesses make lovely plot devices. Also, last but not least, please be committed. I don't want this to die, if you're going to be gone for long periods of time day something, I get worried easily lol sorry.
