"How do we know you're not lying?" Silene finally said. "What if you're a spy and are planning to kill us all?" She knew she was making an overstatement but held her pride. Touching one of her knives, she looked towards Cade and Riann for any sign of doubt.

"Sono quasi pronto a tagliarti la gola che hai in testa, vagabondo, quindi stai zitto." Alyssa replied to Cade.

Silene tightened her grip on her throwing knife and looked towards Riann worriedly.
This could go one of two ways. She thought.

Alyssa turned to Silene. "If I wanted to kill you, you'd already be dead."

Cade inched his knife closer to the girl's face. "I'm not trusting you if you keep talking in gibberish."

"I'm not speaking 'gibberish'. It's called Italian, tu contadino incolto."

Silene's blood boiled. This wasn't the first time someone had said that. She felt a cold shiver go down her back as she remembered her father's words; "If I wanted to kill you, you'd already be dead." She felt weakened at the memory but she forced herself to prevail. "So why don't you?" She laughed humorlessly. "Come on. I'm not afraid to die." She stepped closer, just inches from her face. "I dare you."

“Cade, please shut up.” Chiara frowned, studying Alyssa. “We’re you ever in the gang, the… Raccuettes?”

Cade shrugged. "Potato, patato." When he saw Silene walk closer, he stepped in front of her. "Ah ah, no doing that. You're a new recruit, we can't loose you already."

Alyssa's hands shook slightly. "Why would I EVER join the very gang that tried to kill me?" She asked quietly as she rubbed her arm subconsciously.

She looked at Cade in confusion and scoffed. "Cool it, you barely know me." She glared at Alyssa and stepped back.

Alyssa glared back at Silene. "I don't kill innocent people. I'm NOT a monster." She said, defending herself.

Chiara’s eyes widened. “That’s where I know you from.”, she breathed, voice hoarse. “You’re that girl who— oh f*ck.”
