"Yeah. Turns out she was working for the resistance, and she was sent out there to murder the king. Her plan failed and she left to go back to her organization, but not before I fell in love with her." Felix closed his eyes.

She shot Cade a questioning look. "I wish?" She laughed.

Chiara looked the girl over with narrowed yes. “I see.”, she said finally, posture slightly threatening.

Riann was silent as she listened to Felix.

"Don't try and hide it. I saw you blush." Cade joked, turning back to Chiara. "She gave me this expensive gem. She's trustworthy."

"First off, It's a condition." She laughed again. "Second, it wasn't that expensive."

"Through a…complicated matter of events, I ended up with her, traveling back to where she came from. The only thing was we were held in the cells. I was questioned and…" Felix's eyes darkened, "They said they would kill my family if I didn't spy on her for them."

Cade rolled his eyes at the girl before turning to listen in to the other conversation going on.

Breeze walked up to the girl who she had assisted to the weapons shop. She said nothing and instead would wait for them to notice her. The slingshot and explosive and been placed back in her bag.

"Gods, I'm so sorry Felix." Riann murmured. She felt a little jealous at the mention of Marya. Felix and her would run around the palace together since they were little, eventually leading to Riann liking him. She wasn't sure if she had let go of those feelings yet.

"Yeah." Felix blew his hair away from his face, tightening his grip on Riann's hand. "I loved her and I still betrayed her. I called the king when I got there, and the guards showed up, killing everyone she loved. Her own makeshift family. I thought I was saving my own, but I was really destroying hers. None of it mattered anyway. The head guard, Spurgeon? He decided to kill my family anyway. My twin sister, my parents, dead."

Riann lowered her amber eyes, not sure what to say. "I'm so sorry Felix. I wish I could have done something." She finally said, looking up at him.

"It's okay." Felix squeezed her hand, "Maybe one day, she'll forgive me." he looked into her eyes gratefully. "I have to go soon.'

Chiara gave them both a suggestive grin. “Whatever you say…..”

Breeze wanted to speak up, and again said nothing. Years on the streets taught her to speak when needed. And this is not one of those times.
