Nikki was lying in her bed doing nothing. She normally did that. It took her mind of things. Like how she would kill herself

Alex kept his eyes on the string as he finished the song. He walked offstage, the clapping from the audience feeling a million miles away, and immediately started looking around the cafe. If his soulmate was there, he was going to find them.

Thayer brushed a bit of blue hair out of their face and stood up. It was intermission anyways, and they were hungry. The string went in the general direction of the register too, so that was a plus. Hopefully…

Alex walked over to the register, thinking they could be there. He looked down at the string and noticed it going in another direction. He turned around and started following it.

//think I’m gonna sleep now, sry! Night :)

They awkwardly stood in line, still staring at the string. It turned a little at one point, leaving them wondering.

@charkieshark

(It's okay, see you tomorrow)

Alex continued to follow the string. He was walking towards a line with a bunch of people there. The cafe was definitely getting some good business. He couldn't see who the other end was tied to through all the people.

Atticus brushed back his white locks of hair out of his face. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, "There are so many people here…" he whispered to himself. His friends decided he needed to get out more and go to social events, so here he was, wishing he could curl up in a ball and hide.

(Poor child.)

Thayer gave their order. “Will that be all, miss?” The cashier chirped.
“Um… yeah, thanks,” they replied, visibly uncomfortable. Behind them, an older couple made a comment about Thayer’s hair, and they flushed pink.

@charkieshark

Alex pushed through the crowds and someone at the front of the line caught his eye. He looked at his string, then followed it to the blue-haired person. A smile spread across his face.

@ImNotCrazyImAFangirl

“Ugh, your hair is horrible,” the woman started. “Why don’t you try something more feminine? Don’t want to be mistaken for one of those ridiculous ‘new’ genders, after all.”

Thayer glared at the woman without saying anything. As they looked up, they saw a boy making his way over - eyes fixed on their string. The shared one. Their soulmate.
