Jack pauses, remembering the stranger watching from the gala. He turned to her and pulls out an old book. "Why don't you read this, while I go see if that 'shadow' isn't still there."

" I don't think that's a good idea" she said.

He heads for the door, and drew an elven blade. "Why not? Whatever attacked you might not have been for you. But no matter what, I need you to stay safe."

She sighed " hurry back ?" She asked.

His eyes go red, "I'll do my best" he gives a charming smiles and ran as fast as any demon could. As big as the forest was, Jack ran through to wits end. He returned to the cabin, without breaking a single sweat.

Evan ran her fingers through her blonde locks and sighed.

Jack sat next to Evan and sighed also.

In a long moment of silence, Jack break it by saying, "how is the pain?"

He shakes her a little, "Did you hear me?"

" sorry I zoned out" she said shaking her head

He smiled, "how is the pain?"

" Better" she said

His smile left his face and was replaced by a sad expression, "You must go. I don't wish to destroy what little hope I have. If your parents think you disappeared because of me, I'll surely be executed"

" no such thing will happen but I will go I'll … Talk to you later? She asked

Before any thought came to him, "yes! I mean, of course."

She smiled with a nod and soed away

That evening Jack was seen helping a woman at her shop. He smiled at the children who visited. He was wearing light attire and his eyes normal. He seemed like a normal human.

Evab was in the village buying food

Jack saw Evan but did not want to interrupt her day. He starts to look away but sees the shadowy figure from the gala and gives the same scowl than before

Evan paid for a bag of fruit

The woman said her thanks and gives Jack a few coins. They bid a farewell and Jack starts to wander around the kingdom. He stops and sees the king. He freezes.

The queen stood beside him and Evan behind thsm but you couldn't see Evan because of her father's height

"um..uh… Your majesty." He bowed in a nervous way. "P..PL..Pleased to..ma..meet you"

The king sorta glared and kindve pulled jack away " how do you feel about Evan and don't lie to me answer I'll know if you do" he said
