yeah I literally never do anything over the summer so I've spent the entirety of school being out on notebook
oof
yep lol
(Yeah I kind of forgot about this lmao)
Floyd hadn’t felt like eating. He was more distracted by the thoughts constantly running through his brain- about Vien, about the murder. He leaned forward against his elbows that were rested on his knees, looking between the pair. “So, King Ace, what else should we show Vien?”
Ace turned to look at Floyd, tilting head in confusion at being called 'King Ace', especially by him.
"W-well I did promise him we would go to the library, maybe we can go out and play soccer or something.." He said, shifting a bit in his seat.
Vien tilted his head at the mention of soccer. He used to play it with his siblings all the time. “S-Soccer after the library sounds nice,” he mumbled sheepishly
The young king smiled, turning so he was now facing Vien.
"I love soccer, I remember whenever Floyd and i would go out so he could go shopping, I would always run off and play soccer with the kids!" He said, remembering the day he lost his father.
"I wasn't half bad, if I do say so myself." He bragged, wiggling his eyebrows jokingly.
"I used to play it with my s-siblings. It was one of the only things I could do with them f-for a long time," Vien mumbled sheepishly, fiddling with the hem of his sweater absently as he spoke
"I bet you where good." He said, elbowing Floyd in the side, "Don't you think?"
Ace attempted to get Floyd back into the conversation, sensing how distracted he was.
Floyd nodded his head and chuckled in a low tone. “I’m sure you were good. Did your siblings ever cheat? Mine were the worst with things like that, very competitive. It’d be a lot more fun to play a clean game, y’know?” He chatted, doing his best to try and act like himself again.
"James used to cheat s-sometimes. But Meredith would always play fair," Vien responded quietly, smiling down a bit at his lap at the memory of his siblings. "I never won. I l-let Merry win all the time, and I could never beat James."
“And James and Meredith are your siblings? What are they like?” Floyd asked, his previously small smile widening as Vien seemed to brighten when talking about his brother and sister. Floyd could perfectly understand, he loved to talk about his siblings with others.
"James was always n-nice. You'd never be able to tell us apart if he w-wasn't older and had curly hair. He was always taking photos and m-making fires, but he was always nice. And Meredith was the nicest k-kid you'd ever meet. Even though her classmates were mean to her b-because of her birthmark, she would always try to make everyone smile," Vien murmured, still staring down at his lap
“Yeah? They both sound like really great kids. You would like my sibling,” Floyd said, feeling strange using the singular form of ‘siblings’ now. “Nick is my older brother, and he owns a shop downtown. He would always cheat in soccer and shove me around a bit, but he’s a good guy. And my older sister, Cassie- god, you would have loved her. She sounds a lot like Meredith, just a really sweet woman. She loved kids, and if the two of you had met, you’d be absolutely spoiled by her.”
Vien looked up at Floyd, a small smile working its way across his face. "I think James and Meredith would have l-liked you two. Even though James would steal all your food and M-Meredith would insist on giving you flowers and things," he said with a small laugh
As Ace watched the two interact, he jumped at the mention of his favorite topic, flowers.
"Flowers?" He asked, suddenly interested in more than just watching the two.
(lmao so I go to an agricultural school, and floriculture is one of the shops, and I'm in it right? Well they call me Marky-marky-moo the flower power boy. Like, them meaning my friends. I'm just gonna go now.)
(oh my god lmao)
Vien nodded, his smile growing a little wider as he looked up at Ace. "Meredith loved flowers. She c-could grow whatever ones she wanted in seconds, but she liked to grow them normally. We had a w-whole vegetable garden she took care of, and she would make us all sorts of things with the f-food she grew."
"I think we would've gotten along, I love all plants, not just flowers!" He exclaimed, baby blue eyes sparkling in delight.
"Yeah, I think you w-would've," Vien said, smiling softly as he watched the excited king in front of him. He would have loved to introduce his family to Ace and Floyd, if they were still alive. The memory caused his smile to falter almost unnoticeably, but he did his best to keep his smile
Noticing Vien's sudden sadness, Ace leaned over and wrapped his arms around him.
( I'M LISTENING TO A GREAT BIG WORLD AND THE SONG "I DON'T WANNA LOVE SOMEBODY ELSE" CAME ON AND I FEEL SO DEPRESSED NOW AND I FEEL LIKE I WANNA C R Y IT REMINDS ME OF ALEXX SO MUCH OMFG IT IS THE BEST SONG I'VE EVER HEARD, BUT I HAVE T E A R S)
(oof I'm sorry dude)
Vien gave Ace a look of confusion. Why was the king hugging him? "M-Mr. Ace, why are you hugging me?" he asked slowly, not quite sure what was going on
Ace shrugged, squeezing the boys shoulders a little bit before sitting up.
"No reason." He said, quickly changing the subject, "Just let me know when you guys are done, and we can head to the library."
"O…Kay," Vien said slowly, rubbing at the back of his neck absently. He returned to his food, taking a few bites before glancing around the room. He was hungry, but he also wanted to hurry up and go to the library. Decisions, decisions
