Mars stared after her blankly until it clicked what she'd said. Heart filling with excitement, he darted after her with a laugh, dodging the servant he'd nearly plowed through and ignoring as his name was shouted again in the distance. "You called me brilliant!" he called after her with a grin. Surely she had to know he'd never let that one go… Although, in all fairness, he didn't feel very brilliant most of the time. It hadn't even occurred to him to try and appeal to his parents with that kind of logic. He always kind of just assumed they'd figure it out on their own. As he followed Clementine he allowed his mind to drift, imagining a future where there was no pressure to marry his friend. A future with just a little bit more freedom in it. It saddened him a little to realize he'd still never be able to travel the lands in the way that he so badly wanted, but having more say in who he would marry was surely a start he could get behind.
(Sorry I've been gone awhile.)
Clementine chuckled, "Don't get used to it!" She shouted with a smile he couldn't see. As soon as she got to the door, a line of servants blocked her way in. Immediately she stopped, she couldn't make it to her room if she were to go this way. Turning around she bolted the other way. "Mars turn around." She quickly ran by him and headed to the back of the castle. Her room was on the second floor, but thankfully there was a tree right outside. Though she wasn't known for her tree climbing skills, this 2ould be a good chance to practice. With a deep breath she began to climb.
(No problem, actually—same here)
Mars slowed and nearly tripped as she shot past him before quickly recovering and following in the opposite direction. A few more seconds passed and he finally caught up, barely panting and with a huge grin still plastered across his face.
"Climbing, huh? Looks like I was a bad influence," he joked as he backed up a few paces. He waited for her to climb higher, then sprinted towards the tree, using the trunk as a springboard as he reached for one of the higher branches. He used his momentum to swing his legs up to another branch, and then quickly began his ascent until he was at the same height as her.
"Show off," Clementine rolled her eyes. As she pushed branches aside they leave marks on her pale skin. Because of how she grew up, everyone made sure nothing like cuts or bruises were on her. The white railing of the balcony came into sight, a glimmer of hope resided inside her. She reached out with her right hand to grab the railing, while her left had a firm grip on the tree. Falling was the last thing she wanted. Her heart pounded. Finally, the feeling of the cool railing filled her hand and she stood up. Her left hand quickly retreated from the tree to the railing and she made a quick jump over, both feet landing on the edge. "I-I did it!" Wiyh a smile she turned back to Mars to show off her efforts, but as she did she lost her footing and slipped. Both feet were now dangling off the edge. Clementine's grip became tighter as she realized that if she made one move she would fall. "M-Mars, help me!" Terror now over took and the only thing she thought of was that she was going to die.
(So I said I didn't want them to fall in love, but I love having romance in my RPS. So, my idea was we could both make another character and just have two characters, or, we can just have Clementine and Mars slowly start to like each other. What do you think?)
