So, should we begin now or no?
So, should we begin now or no?
sure
Okay!
A few things before we begin:
Our characters don't have their powers in our realm. They can only be used in Hourglass.
Okay, as for the musical ability, songs means basically any kind of music, so long as it makes sense. Like, you could play a magical melody on panpipes or sing something, but you can't just sing "La la la the-villain-was-defeated-by-the-power-of-songs-and-the-good-guys-won!" like, I'm just saying, it can't be OP. You feel me?
For my character (Romana), she has to read written words. She can write something and read it, and it'll happen (but probably not in the way she intended it to unless she was painstakingly specific). But trust me, I have no intention to overuse this ability.
For basically all other characters, no OP stuff okay? I just singled out the first two powers because those are admittedly a little bit too easy to make OP. Just…. no God-Mode, okay?
I might bring in a few extra characters for the purpose of making the plot move along, but by no means will they stay around for long periods of time. I invite you to do the same. Like, seriously, you can even just have your character ask a randomized character on the ship's crew to do them a favor and have that randomized character basically become nonexistent once the scene is over, like an NPC. Seriously, they don't need to stay around for more than a few sentences.
And as stated earlier, have fun! Don't take this too seriously, it may get dark at times but you don't have to act like it's a funeral.
That should cover most of what's needed to be covered for now, let's RP!
Romana had talked everyone into this, and there was no going back now. The floor, mostly rotted, had broken under the weight of the four and they had fallen into a section of the old, spooky mansion that looked like a library. There was a table at the end of the hall, with a mysterious dusty old book and a picture of a grand old ship looming over the book. "Hey, guys, check this out!" she said to the group, regaining her footing.
(Bad start, I'm aware, but bear with me.)
"What is it, Romana?" Elise asked breezily, walking briskly over. Even in this creepy place, she wouldn't let her elegance fail her.
"What is it?" Asks Avery, yawning.
"We have been here for a day, when can we go home?"
"It's this… thing." she said. Romana walked over to the book, feeling almost drawn towards it. She stood at the table, blowing dust off the cover. "It's like a spellbook. Like in Harry Potter or something." she said, mostly to herself.
"Welp, this is going to end badly. Lemme see it." he says, walking over to the book.
"A spellbook, yes?" Elise peers down at the book. Her decisiveness zeroes in on the book. "It appears to be from the Victorian Ages - relatively recent for a spellbook."
Avery grabs it and opens it. "Its empty, completly empty." he hands the book to Romana
Romana opened the book. "No it isn't, see? It says… " she started to read. "Once, there was void. And then there was Hourglass." Romana read from the book. "A land where dreams come true. But most dreams turn out to be nightmares, and the Mother, a deity of immense power and wisdom, creator and destroyer, the first and last, wept for her world. What's that supposed to mean?" she muttered. "Something something, blah blah blah, evil sorceress, look at the painting…. wait, what? The painting?" she said, looking up at the picture of a ship. It had a certain… realness to it.
"It is saying that the painting will take us to Hourglass, the land of harsh dreams." Elise explained simply.
"Does anyone else feel strange?" Avery asks
i feel if my soul is being sucked into thebook
"I think we should take a few steps back." Elise backed away from the book, slowly.
Romana slammed the book shut. The painting was looking completely real now… the waves looked as though they were moving. She could feel a faint breeze, and smell salt.
(this sounds super awesome I'm defiantly stalking this)
(ok hai)
"Don't go into the painting, Romana." Elise warned. "Did you read the book? It is the land of nightmares and uncontrollable power. Do not go."
"Yeah, as if. This is probably some shitty YouTube prank." she said defiantly.
Elise raised an eyebrow. "Strange things have happened lately. I would not risk it."
"To hell with it. Let's leave this place." she said. Suddenly, she was splashed with seawater. The frame got bigger as the library faded, and they were suddenly in the open ocean, near the ship. "This is utter madness!" she screamed, trying to stay afloat.
"Why does something crappy allways happen when im with you two?!" he yelled, swimming towards the boat.
Roger second guessed himself when he spotted people off to the side of the ship. What type of crazy people would swim in oceans such as these. He sent a ship hand to alert the captain and went to the side of the ship and threw over some ropes. "If you can grab those, you might live."
( I'm on my phone and it's dying so I'm gonna be on and off)
"NO DIP SHERLOCK!" He screams to the man who threw the ropes, grabbing on to one.
Elise sighed, and followed after the two. Between breaths, she yelled, “THIS- WAS NOT- WISE!!”
"Once again; NO DIP SHERLOCK!" he yells, pulling himself up the rope.
