DISCLAIMER: This is loosely based on a story I've been working on for almost two years (I think? A long time, either way). Please do not take or use any of my ideas, they are my creative property.

A group of smugglers under the guise of a travelling circus plot their revenge on a terrorist group who bombed one of their shows and killed almost half their performers. They rescue wives from their abusive husbands and stage the event as a kidnapping, forge identification for runaways looking to start a new life, steal slaves away from harmful masters and wildlife away from poachers. Whatever is left of the scattered, disorganized government of the kingdom they live in is largely corrupt, the justice system untrustworthy and biased, which has lead the smugglers to adopt a bit of a Robin Hood status in the more downtrodden communities. No one knows who they are, or the fact that they're using the circus as a cover for their operations, but organizations have been set up by various political leaders to hunt them down. Meanwhile, the terrorist group is still on the run, and the performers are determined to apprehend them.

Rules:

  • Ask before joining. I am allowed to deny you entry.
  • If I don't know you, I will ask you to provide an example of your writing
    -LGBT+ accepted (obviously), but be conscious of homophobia in the time period (which is loosely reminiscent of the early 1900s)
  • No one liners, three lines at minimum please
  • Be nice! No IRL hate or you’re out!
  • Please don’t make up a character for this, use a relatively developed one
  • No Mary/Gary Sues
  • OCs only
  • If your character has powers, run them by me first. Nothing OP.
  • Skip when things get steamy
  • Violence and swearing is allowed
  • Sensitive content (abuse, depression, self harm, etc.) is allowed
  • Two characters per person, max
  • You must have your template(s) up in the next three days max or I give up your spot to someone else

@CW_StarkSpangledBanner I'm playing a trapeze artist and a lion tamer, but you could be an animal trainer for a different species or a snake charmer. However, I've never rped with you before, so I need to see a paragraph of your writing before I let you join.

Sadie looked back at the figure behind her, tears reflecting the moonlight as she asked a simpled question "why?" The corner of his lips turned up "when caught in a game of cat and mouse, it is the cat that wins." He responded "I'm sorry love, I wish I'd known about you earlier." He grinned and and the echoing sound a bang was heard. "I apologize as well, but sometimes the mouse is much more clever than the Cat, Elliot." Sadie said, holding a small, smoking pistol, tears still streaming down her face. "I'm sorry brother." She whispered slowly before falling to the ground, heartbroken.

Just a small bit of writing that I had to do for school about a year ago. Its not the best, but it's similar to my writing now.

Name: Estella Sol
Age: 19

Species: ¼ Sphinx, ¾ Human
Appearance: Long, rich brown hair in subtle waves to the midpoint of her back, thick and shot through with natural highlights of lighter shades. A middle part with a widow’s peak, extremely faint gradient into a dark bronze around the tips, thick locks that are hard to keep back. Smooth, dark tan skin marred by scars, some faint, some less so, large caramel eyes shot through with gold and framed by thick, dark lashes. Full lips, an enigmatic smile, a pronounced jawline. 5’9”, an athletic build, definite muscles (though she’s nowhere near being buff), and slight curves.
General Attire: Her usual clothes are some shade of tan, brown, or golden-yellow. She prefers traditional men’s wear (trousers, simple shirts) to dresses and skirts, as it’s easier to move and train in. Her performance attire tends to be sun-themed, and is usually more practical than revealing.
Personality: Fiery spirit, determined, stubborn, extroverted, witty, lots of turbulent emotions, feels very strongly about most things. A rebel, speaks loudly, not afraid to break rules but knows where to draw the line, knows what’s smart and what isn’t. Recovering (sort of) from depression, so she can quickly withdraw into herself, doesn’t like accepting help from others, has a very dark mind but hides it well. Jokes around a lot, surprisingly fierce, strong moral code.
Backstory: Estella’s mother and father worked for a group of wildcat smugglers that they were in debt to, trying to repay them as quickly as possible so they could take their children and leave. She had a twin brother, who she was incredibly close to, and after her father was killed in an accident with a wild tiger, her mother tried to run. She managed to hide Estela and her brother before being found and killed, and together, the two young teenagers hopped from town to town, even travelling with gypsies for a while before they encountered the smugglers a second time. They ended up accidentally freeing a few lions in the process of getting away, and to their surprise, the lions ended up bonding with them and becoming extremely loyal and protective. Before long, they joined the circus as lion-taming partners, until the brother was killed in the terrorist attack.
Other: Learning how to read and write. Bilingual, can speak the kingdom's equivalent of Spanish.

Name: Elliot Fletcher (Eli)
Age: 17
Birth gender and current pronouns: Male, he/him
Sexuality: Biromantic (leans towards boys)/greysexual
Role in the circus: Fire dancer
Species: Human
Appearance: He has wavy, black hair that is never tamed and is cut off beneath his ears. His skin is a lighter olive color that makes it nearly impossible to guess his ethnicity. His eyes are a pale green color that have a golden ring around the pupils, and he has a lazy eye (his left one). While he doesn't nessisarily have a muscular build, his arms are rather buff and he has great upper body strength. He is 5'6".
General Attire: He prefers to wear tank tops when he performs so there isn't loose fabric that could catch fire. He also wears skinny black pants and black ankle boots. Outside of performing, he likes to wear his black jacket over his tank tops and dark colored pants.
Personality: He is extremely loyal to his friends to a gracious extent. He would be willing to break rules and rebel only if someone else is as well, and prefers to stay away from the leadership role. He is generally a very peppy person and loves joking with his friends. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't sleep well at night so he has a tendency to take random naps and get tired quickly.
