When Alyssa gets her drink, she goes and sits down at a table. She got out her laptop and started typing furiously.
"Lemme get a latte, eh?" Any kind'll do." Niko says, walking over to a booth next to the seat of a girl with long, dirty blonde hair that was partially dyed. He takes out his phone, and starts texting.
Ashera walked into the coffeehouse with her book, ready to take a break from all her studying for school. After ordering her usual and picking up her straight black coffee from the counter, she made her way towards the couches closest to the windows to begin reading.
March was running late to school as usual. She stopped into the coffee shop to order her usual, bumping into a random guy as she did. Her backpack fell off and all the contents spewed everywhere. She knocked the guy's latte out of his hand, getting the hot liquid all over her.
"Oh no! I'm so sorry!" she cried, scrambling to pick up loose papers and notebooks.
"Hey, don't sweat it." Niko said, he kneeled down, to help her pick her stuff up.
She paused, staring at the ground. "My inhaler," she murmured, "I'm so sorry, where's my inhaler?" She looked all around and couldn't see it.
Niko paused, alongside her, and then felt around for it.
"You check your pockets?"
He looked around too. He'd checked almost everywhere. This poor thing.
Ashera, seeing what had happened, rushed over to help the girl who'd dropped her things. She seemed to be looking for something, but Ash wasn't sure what. "Is everything alright? What happened? Is there something I can do to help?" She rambled, attempting to help look for whatever the girl had lost.
"I think there's a small store down the road, I can get you a new one if you need it." He offered looking at her. Just then, his hand fell upon something.
"No no, It's prescription and they cost a lot without insurance, I really need it, I'm running late," she was starting to get panicked.
Millie nad drowned out partially most of the commotion, but looked up at the guy helping the girl. Something clicked in her brain and she closed her computer up and when over and asked him something " Hey, what's your name? I might be wrong but you look familier." She said, taking in his jawline and the scent that came off his shirt. Millie played with her hair and blinked slowly, waiting for him to answer back.
"Niko, But yuou can call me 'A', if you want, what's up?"." He said, still looking, he pulled it out from under a table, a smsll bottle with a mouthcap on the side.
"This it?" He said to the new girl.
"So… A. You'd go to school near north carolina ridgmy?" Millie said, questioning herself of why she did this as a sudden blush crawled across her face, she had no idea why though
"Okay go make out somewhere else. I need my inhaler," she huffed at them.
"Yes!" she said, grabbing it out of his hand. Her shirt was still covered in latte but she didn't have time to change. She looked the girl up and down. What kind of jerk flirts with a guy who's looking for an inhaler?
Millie looked down at the girl, Laughing and helping her up, another thing clicking in her head " You need some help? I could pay for some water for you. I just had desavu." Millie smiled at her. " I haven't gotten your name yet, what is it? " She asked, smiling genuenly.
"Ahem." Niko said, looking at the poor latte covered lady. He took off his coat. "Here, we can't have you going to school like that!" He handed it to her.
"I'm fine on my own, thanks," she muttered coldly as she handed Niko five dollars for the latte she ruined, "I'm late for school. Carry on, heteros." She shoved her inhaler into her back and stalked out of the coffee shop.
Millie's heart sank as she backed away from Niko, Tears welling up. She swore she wasn't flirting with him. She was just curious. So Millie just stood there, laptop half out of her back, her hands shaking and her eyes glassy. She couldn't run, and she had no clue why she was over-reacting so much.
"It's fine, I'm good." He waved the money away, and turned back towards the other inhabitants of the shop. "Yeah, I go to Ridgmy. But you won't usually see me there." He sensed something was wrong with the brunette in front of him.
Ash walked back to her spot on the couches, hurt that the girl had seemed mad at all of them. She pulled out her book, trying to distract herself from her mind. She knew she hadn't done enough to help the girl and that just made her feel worse.
"I'm fine, thanks," she responded from the doorway. She saw Millie's reaction to her words, her face all screwed up looking like she was about to burst into tears. March rolled her eyes. The girl looked pathetic. She almost felt bad for her, but who the hell starts crying in the middle of a coffee store? What an attention seeker. Niko would take care of it. She turned out of the coffee shop and headed to school, hoping she wouldn't bump into any of them in the halls.
Millie blinked, sensing the space between her last words to him, a tear running down her face. She looked up and smiled at him out of greif, and went back to sit at her table, slowly but surely. Wishing he would followbehnd, she turned around, "Pardon my manners, I guess I did something wrong in this situation. I think I'm gonna go sit down for a few…" Millie sighed, almost passing out from how blurry and unreal everything felt
"Hey… You did alright… You volunteered to help. I think that's more than enough." Niko proposed, kindly.
