Winds blew from all directions, rain pouring from the grey sky. Black umbrella's swarmed the bustling streets, except for one very noticeable lemon, yellow, umbrella. Ivory clutched her coat tightly around her. Her bright yellow umbrella gripped in her hand.
Laying in the middle of now where, Xavier decided it would be a good time to go swimming in the lake.. While it was raining.
//I’m here but are you sure I’m ok with leaving Kawaii was here first
(Both of you guys can stay as long as one or the other downgrades to a sidekick….)
(So, we should be sorted out now, right?? And you can start too btw, I already posted a starter)
//yeah we’re all sorted out.
Hannah stepped into a narrow doorway in a vain attempt to shelter herself from the downpour. She debated grabbing a stranger’s umbrella for a few minutes, but decided against it. Stealing is bad, she reminded herself. Even when you’re desperate, stealing is bad. And it doesn’t look like unbrellas are of much use right now anyways.
Sprinting up to the building, Ivory swiftly opened the door. She was exactly 33 seconds late. Watching the seconds tick by on her watch, she hung her coat and switched her shoes. Rushing over to the stairwells, since it was faster than waiting for an elevator.
Iris sits at the back of an in the wall cafe sipping a coffee. She decides to wait for the rain to stop or the cafe closes to leave, which ever one comes first. It seems a few other people have decided to do the same so the cafe is filled.
//can Hannah join iris @ThermalNight ?
Rushing up the stairs, she held onto her book. Swinging open a door, quietly taking a seat.
"You're late," Irvana said.
"The rain delayed me a little, "Ivory said, "But I finished!"
She held up the book, with the glossy cover and textured writing.
Hannah noticed a nearby cafe and rushed in, wringing her coat on the mat before stopping to look around. All the tables were full, and the only one that had any seats left was occupied by a girl who looked about Hannah’s age. Hannah walked over and asked shyly, “Hi, uh… can I join you?”
"Sure," Iris smiles "bad weather today, huh," she tries to create son sort of small talk but curses herself at the awkward attempt.
“Yeah,” Hannah said, sitting down. “Inconvenient, but, uh… what can you do?”
"Yeah," she pauses for a second, "I'm Iris."
"Ooh, gimme gimme!" Irvana came over snatching the book away. "No Home for Us," She read the title opening the pages. "Hey! Give it back!" She stole the book back tucking it under her leg.
(IDk how to jump in but Xavier is floating around a lake soooo, ok :)
Cole walked through the rain, not particularly in a hurry. The streets were quiet and abandoned, but little shops and cafes had a quiet bustle to them from those who had ducked inside to avoid the downpour. Cole, however, did not mind the weather.
After a session on writing, Ivory stared out the window. The never-ending rain of today.
"Yeah," she pauses for a second, "I'm Iris."
“Hannah,” Hannah nods. “Good to meet you.”
"You too," Iris looks out the window and sees that the rain won't let up for a while so decides to continue talking, hoping to not make it too awkward, "What do you do? You know, for a job or in your spare time."
“Oh! I, uh… I had a job for a bit as a bookeeper for some rich old lady. The lady died, I was out of a job. I’ve been looking, but that was a few moths ago, and I haven’t found much,” Hannah said, not meeting Iris’s eyes. “I understand if you want to leave in a tornado of disgust now.”
Iris laughs a little, "A tornado of disgust? I find that way too funny. Why would I be disgusted?"
