( just making up a school ) "Loss Angeles's school of mathematics and the arts." El said proudly.
"Oh that's cool!!" Jemma exclaimed.
"Yeah I guess. I really want to be a Travel Writer, actually. Thats my major. English."
"That's cool. I'm studying to be on the police force."
El let her mouth drop. "Well THATS cool!"
Jemma smiled. "My dad is an FBI and my mom's a lawyer, so I guess you can say that it runs in the family."
"I guess you could! My dad was a farmer, and my mom stayed at home to make me feel bad about myself and shove chores at my face. She wasn't a very good mother, actually."
Jemma nodded, and for a minute they walked in companionable silence. "Soooo……………….."
"Well, anyways we're here." El said, gesturing to the beach in front of her.
"Cool. Well I guess I'll be going that way." Jemma said, motioning towards the factory by the beach.
"Okay. It was nice meeting you! Oh wait!" She said, pulling out her phone. "Could I have your number?
"Oh sure!" Jemma gave the the girl her number happily. "Maybe we can set up some time to hang out."
"That would be so fun! Okay I have to go, I'm late. I'm a life guard! Anyways, thank you for walking with me!"
"You're welcome! See you later!" Then Jemma turned and when to the factory.
Jemma ran into her 'base of operations'. She picked up a communicator and put it on. "Okay, Jasper. He's on west side and main." She sat down at one of the computers and started following the street surviellence cameras.
Jemma picked up her phone three hours later. She decided to see if the girl she had met was free.
Jemma: Hey, I'm free tonight if you are. Do you want to meet at the park near the beach?
Element looked down as her phone buzzed. Her shift was almost over, so she replied, Yes I can. Exactly what time?
Jemma: 8:30? I'll be done with supper by then, and I have to walk my dog anyway.
El: 8:30 sounds fantastic!
Jemma: Awesome. See you there! Jemma got off her bed and put her phone on her nightstand. Then she went into her bathroom and put her hair in a neat ponytail. She slid a purple hoodie over her black t-shirt, partially because it was freezing, and also to hide the new bandage on her arm. Then she slid into the same pair of boots she had been wearing earlier. Then she went down stairs to eat with her family.
Element walked away from the beach, hugging her arms to herself. Her sweatshirt wasn't keeping her as warm as she'd hoped!
