"Tired," Mre said with a tired smile. "There was a hero and villain fight right next to the medical school." She explained, eyes blinking as the shadows flickered across her skin. It was normal for people to have powers nowadays, but most weren't shown.
“Again?” Lisa complained. “They have got to choose another spot. It’s getting old.” She sighed. She was actually starting to detest fighting anywhere near that place, but for some reason her friends thought it was hilarious to go to the same places all the time. Some of them were pretty brainless.
"Yeah, thankfully almost no one was injured. I got scraped by some debris while trying to get some equipment out." Mre said, hoping that explained the blood on her arm and a few of the scratches from.
Lisa glanced at the scratches, noticing them more than she had at first glance. “Are you okay?” she asked, concerned. “I should get you something to clean the wounds. Are you in pain?” She sat up straighter, then got off the couch in mild alarm.
"I'm fine, most of the blood isn't mine." Mre says, like that would make her roommate feel better. "Plus, I can defend myself, my sister's a hero, she taught me stuff!"
“I’m glad you’re okay, but you got me really worried for a moment!” Lisa exclaimed, slowly sitting back down. “If anything ever happens to you, come straight to me, okay? My cousin is a doctor and she taught me a lot of stuff.”
Mre gave a laugh, patting Lisa's shoulder. "I'm a doctor in training, almost a full-fledged one." She said with a smile, her bracelets jingling like bells with the movement of her arm.
“Oh, right, duh,” Lisa replied, her cheeks reddening. “I forgot for a minute.” She smiled sheepishly.
"It's okay, I'm surprised I haven't forgotten my own name due to all the studying I'm doing." Mre reassured, smiling with dimples.
“I know, right?” Lisa agreed. “I probably don’t have to study quite as much as you, since I’m only an English major.”
"Probably, but it'll all be worth it once I can get a stable income!" Mre laughed again, as usual, only thinking of her family.
“Yeah, that’ll be nice,” she agreed. Too bad having powers didn’t pay money. “So, you wanna watch this show with me?” she offered, scooting over to give Mre some room on the couch.
"Sure, what's on?" Mre asked, plopping down on the couch with a smile. "Documentaries, cartoons?" She also asked with a smile, a bit impatient as usual.
“Comedy,” Lisa replied, glancing at Mre. Comedy was her favorite genre of show. “Right now it’s Friends.”
"I don't understand Friends, it's so weird and pointless." Mre muttered, pulling a blanket over her body as she turned to the tv.
“What is there to understand?” Lisa asked. “They’re a group of friends in their twenties who do funny stuff. My favorite character is Phoebe.”
"I don't know any of there names, I just call them the dumb ones. Last year, my roommate was obsessed with the show." Mre explained with a grin.
“We can watch something else if you want,” Lisa said, smiling back and handing her the remote. “I’m fine with whatever. Parks and Rec is better anyway.”
"Never watched that either." Mre said, taking a hold of the remote and clicking through the channels. "What about Looney Tunes?" She asked.
“Looney Tunes is good,” Lisa replied. “But we have got to watch Parks and Rec sometime! You’re missing out!”
"I guess, I've been meaning too, just been so busy!" Mre said with a yawn, she was tired as fuck, the villain today had pushed her to some of her limmits.
“I understand,” Lisa said, noticing Mre’s yawn. “Being a doctor in training must be hard work.” She was good at hiding her own exhaustion, though today she had done relatively well.
"Yeah, but hey, I've got tomorrow off because they have to rebuild my classroom so I'm going to sleep all day." She laughed, putting the blanket around her shoulders and smiling tiredly.
“That’s an upside to this whole hero-villain thing,” Lisa said with a smile. She knew that if the roles were reversed, Lisa wouldn’t get much sleep. She wished her life was normal, like Mre’s.
"Yup, what about you? Do you have any morning classes or do you want to watch a bunch of cartoons in the morning?" Mre asked, she really hoped Lisa said yes and that a villain wouldn't attack.
