Cassius tried again. He was a bit annoyed, though his voice didn't betray that. If anything, it remained calm and detached. "Well, did you "kinda just pop into existence" without the ability to sleep or feel free? Or did gaining the throne cause that?"
Virgil sighs, there wasn't much chance trying to get Cass to forget about it. "I was popped into life with it. The sleep part was when I took the throne."
Cassius hummed. "If it's any consolation," he said, "I think you're a much better ruler than the last. You aren't as… corrupt, I would say, as they were."
Virgil snorted. "Some of the former royal family's supporters would argue with you." He said as his snort became a chuckle.
"Yes, well they never slept with the crown prince." He cracked an eye open to watched Virgil's face. "I was sixteen, he was twenty-one. It was sometime at some important meeting, and I can honestly say it was the worst time I've ever had."
How do I tell him that I'm asexual? Virgil thinks to himself, closing his eyes and fiddling with his fingers.
Cassius found Virgil's confusion odd but chose not to comment on it. He cleared his throat awkwardly. "I'm assuming you didn't like them? The royal family, I mean."
"No. Not at all, they murdered my entire village because a single mother asked for medicine gor her child." He said, a harsh glint in his eyes.
"That does seem like something they would do," Cassius muttered. "It's one of the reasons you seem like a better ruler. I sincerely doubt you would have done that."
"I would not do that, no one in my kingdom would. Thats why I'm so worried about the people attacking." He said, the glint in his eyes gone.
Cassius' eyebrows furrowed. "The people will attack you because you aren't attacking them?"
"No, I'm worried about who is attacking." He defines, swinging his legs over the edge of the branch.
Astrid was woken up by the sound of the others talking. She groaned and got up, quickly throwing on a robe over her nightgown; she hated the cold and there was no way she was leaving the warmth of her tent without something warmer. She walked out of her tent to see two people on the rock and two people sitting up in a tree. Choosing to ignore them, she went down by the river instead, feeling more comfortable be the water's edge than on higher ground.
"You mean the poison?" Cassian asked, tracking the movement with his eyes. "Do you really not know who it was?"
"No, I know who it was this time. They're already dead." He says dismissively, still swinging his long ass legs.
Astrid flinched at hearing Virgil's words, she could hear them pretty well since the only other sound was the other two people talking and a few crickets here and there. She walked a little farther down stream so it was quieter and she could focus a little more.
Cerulean woke up after falling off his bed. “It’s been a while since I dreamt that specific dream.” He whispered to himself and walked out of his tent. He saw some of the others already out and went to job n them
(So what was gonna happen at night?)
(I thought we were gonna get attacked?)
Mae heard voices by a tree, a spotted Cassius and Virgil. Choosing to ignore them, she turned back to Iris. "I feel more comfortable at night, perhaps because of my powers,"
(Hi hello I don't know if I have to ask to join but I decided to anyway. So, can I join in the fun?)
