(Is Scorcher a high epic or no ?)
Hazel watched from the background as the reckoner ran from the Scorcher's flames. He had been lucky so far, the water had temporally negated Scorcher's powers, giving him time to run. Hazel looked at her rat Scruff as if he had all the answers. She sighed, he was just a rat. She turned back to the reckoner, he looked like he was talking to somebody. She ran out of her hideout, who ever it was wouldn't get there in time,so she took off before she even had a plan.
(No, though I suspect I'll nab him with water and he'll have hidden super strength. Or at least, that's how I had expected it. Whatevs is fine.)
( Sounds cool lets go with it. )
Getting the usual rush he did from being nearly incinerated, electrocuted, and shot to death, Zack picked up the pace. Feeling for the cheap water gun in his left pocket, he wheeled around and had just enough time to side-step a fireball.
Misty's voice came through his earpiece, "Why yes, Zack, I would very much like for you to keep your word about a bet. Hasn't happened in a while. Mitch is on his way with the waterfall, standby."
Zack cursed under his breath and let loose a few water streams, missing a few but averaging most of the shots into Scorcher's abdomen. Though that wasn't going to do much good, Zack knew.
(This is Hazel's rifle https://goo.gl/images/LWH849 It is a IDF Tavor SAR, fires jacketed hollow points)
As soon as Hazel was in range she aimed her gun at scorcher and fired. Scorcher immediately turned around an flung a fireball at her. She dodged to the right and fired again.
This Pissed him off more.
Much much more.
(Class is about to start for me soo… will be off and on for most of day. Sorry :-( )
(Don't quite know what Zack uses. I'll have that by this afternoon.)
Zack noticed a hint of synthetic orange, and then fire consuming the notion. Scorcher had wheeled around to fire upon the newcomer, who had attempted to but a bullet through his head. It hadn't gotten very far, of course.
"Misty, we have civvie contact. Some gal just came from around the corner and lit him up. Tell Mitch to watch for stray gunfire."
He levelled his own rifle and opened up on Scorcher's back. His response was a wall of fire, between him and Zack.
(Ok @ShadowMisfit )
Hazel felt the heat come off of Scorchers last attack. Her shields had saved her, but they couldn't protect her from feeling the heat. She saw him put up a wall between him and the reckoner. She emptied the clip in to his chest and was not surprised when they melted harmlessly inches from him. She ran around as she reloaded, she thought, Hazel what have you gotten yourself into now ?
Zack tried, again and again, to get past Scorcher's shield, but he kept moving it, blocking him, while still dealing with the civvie on the other side. It was a miracle she wasn't dead yet, but Zack knew it wouldn't last that way.
Just then, a hand fiund purchase on his shoulder. He wheeled around but only found Mitch, the heavy weapons man of his cell.
For heavy weapons, Mitch wasn't very big. He was only slightly taller than Zack, but a helluva lot more muscled. He hefted a flamethrower, with a modified tank in the back.
"Need some help, hotshot?" He asked. He took aim at the wall, and sprayed it out with water. Zack ran as it reformed, ducking through just in time.
(He uses a modified HKG36A2, can accept most scopes and remote fire.)
Hazel watched as the wall fell and the reckoner stepped out with someone new. Some one new who was jacked. Uh oh, she thought, what were they up to now. for now though she just emptied her clip into Scorchers chest. She then ran around dodging fireballs as she reloaded. Whatever those reckoners were doing, they had better do it fast, otherwise she would have to use her powers to get them all out of this mess.
(I love the G36 family in general.)
Zack was about to fire, but he noticed that Scorcher didn't seem to notice that his wall had dropped. So instead, he ran to grab the water bucket and, daring to get close to Scorcher, dumped the bucket on his head. His fire fizzled instantly, but he didn't seem like he was done yet. He wheeled around and grabbed Zack by the throat, the lifted him off the ground.
Super strength. Shoulda saw that coming…
(Sorry my answers are so sparse. I have been all over the place…)
(Its all good my are sometimes too)
Hazel saw the reckoner get lifted of the ground, so she did the only thing she could. She grabbed Scorcher by the arm and watched as his flames flickered out, with surprise and fear crossing his face. Then she fired three rounds into his chest.
Bang bang bang.
The end was so quick for poor Scorcher. The civvie, though Zack was having second doubts about that, put three shots into his chest, and he fell over, releasing Zack. Zack hastily got to his feet and picked up his own rifle, then extended his hand out to the stranger.
Despite her help, he wasn't quite sure of her. He thumbed his mic three times with his mobile, the signal for Hatch, who was on overwatch duty, to keep an eye on her.
Hazel looked at the reckoner and lowered her cap so that he couldn't see her face. She didn't take his hand but got up by herself. She looked him over, and told him." I going to go now. DON'T. FOLLOW. ME."
Zack stared as she went off, stunned by her boldness. He clicked his mobile three times again, and Hatch fired a few warning rounds at the girl's feet.
"Sorry, cowgirl," Zack said, levelling his rifle at her, "I can't just let you run off without having a chat first. Come on with us, and there'll be no problem."
She turned around and scowled at him." Back off, I'm going, you won't even be able to touch me."
"Right," Zack sighed, "And why on God's green and grey earth should I believe that, eh? Christ, woman, you're not even an Epic."
"Then let me go. Reckoners aren't supposed to bother civilians." She smirked, there was no way he was getting out of this one.
"And any civilian, darlin', wouldn't even be bothering an epic in the first place. Or," he added, "know how the Reckoners work. So, let's try this again. Come with me."
"NO."she said leveling her gun at him.
Zack frowned, but decided that this strategy wasn't working. He threw his rifle over his back, and smiled.
"Fine. Whatever, sis. Damn shame, though. You would've made a good Reckoner."
Behind his back, he clicked four times. The standby signal.
Something didn't seem right, he didn't seem like someone to give up so easily. She wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth though. She lowered her weapon." Thanks."
"No problem, 'sis. Just try not to get involved, next time." Zack said.
The girl walked away, and Zack nearly jumped out of his skin as he heard Misty's voice come through his earpiece, "You're letting her go off? You know what she could say to people?"
Zack chuckled, "Misty, do you really think I don't have a plan for this? Hatch, do you have tranqs loaded?"
A german voice responded, "Ja. Say the word, man."
"Hold on a sec," Zack said, "I gotta do this properly."
He heard a collective sigh from the squad channel, and laughed. They knew exactly what he was up to.
"Heya, sis!" he shouted to the girl, trying to get her attention.
She turned around leveling her gun," What do you want ?"
