Velius stands, calling for his precious fox. He pulls up his hood and exits his apartment building. Ember trots beside him as he walks down the street, hands shoved in his pockets, hood pulled up, face turned down. He was silent was he walked, not even apologizing to the people that he bumped into.

Alex looked at Jack, "Speaking of soulmates, have you met any yet?"

Jack shook his head, "No. Though there can't be many people with names like Savannah, Ace, and Willow."

Alex laughed slightly, "Trying having Savannah, Raven, and Luca. Who names their kid Luca?"

Jack laughed along, "Someone apparently."

She heard her name and looked to see two people talking to each other, and starts eavesdropping.

(I thought Alex and Jack each had each other? Earlier you said they were platonic soulmates, aka 'palmates')
There it is again, my name. They have to be the ones. She set down her paintbrushes and walked over to their table casually. "Hello!" She waved to them cheerfully.

Alexa slipped off her blue necklace and put on her pink one. Jack groaned, "Really? C'mon."

Alexa laughed, "Not my fault man. It just happens."

Jack looked at her, "Your shifting makes it more frequent doesn't it?"

Alexa rolled her eyes, "Yes I've told you this hundreds of times."

(Nope. I said they weren't palmates.)

Jack and Alexa both looked at the girl. They said simultaneously, "Hi?"

"I'm Savannah, I just noticed you two and thought I'd say hello." Savannah smiled, brushing her hands off on her jeans. They already had a few splotches of paint on them from her doing the same thing. She didn't mind though, she thought it made her seem more artsy and creative, and she didn't like being a neat freak.

Suddenly a feeling emerges through Savannah and Jack. They had felt in small doses before, but never to this extent. They realize that they a soulmates.

A second feeling emerges in Savannah, along with one in Alexa. The two cannot stop laughing from this feeling that has emerged.

Jack looked at Savannah with awe. He stutters out, "I'm Jack."

Alexa still laughing introduces herself, "And I'm Alexa. Guess we're soulmates!"

"I guess so." Savannah smiled. "I guess you go by Alex for short? That's what the name on my arm… wait…" She looked at the names. An 'a' had formed next to Alex's name. (So like, when Alex(a) changes gender their name changes on her arm. Is that okay?)

(Yep!)

"Did it change?" Alexa got up and looked at her arm.

"Yeah… how strange. It said Alex just a second ago. Oh well, perhaps I read it wrong?"

"No you didn't," Alexa looked at her with bright eyes, "Oh my God! The names change when I change! Jack the names change when I change!"

Jack looked at her, "I heard you the first time."

"Really? That's cool. I think… what do you mean?"

"I'm gender fluid," she explained, "a minute ago I was Alex, now it's Alexa."

"Oh! Cool! I didn't know the names on my arm could just change like that. They're like little tattoos, huh?"

"Neither did I!" Alexa said. This whole soulmate thing was making her giddy, "It's so cool!"

Jack nodded, "And we're soulmates too apparently."

Ace walked in with Willow, hand in hand. She had her flower crown perched on her head and Ace had his dragon, Zodiac, who he'd shrunk down to the size of a chipmunk, on his head. The cafe was quaint and they claimed a table, with Willow ordering some Earl Grey tea with a cookie and Ace ordering black coffee with some banana bread.

"Yeah, I heard you guys say my name and decided to come over. Guess it's good that I did, isn't it?"

"Yeah," Jack nodded. Alexa nodded along. The high wearing down and she returning to her normal self.

Velius comes to the cafe, his fox with him. He orders an americano before grabbing a seat in the corner and staring out at nothing. He lets out a soft sigh, his thumb running over the name of his wrist.
