I want to collaboratively write a story. My basic idea was that our characters live in a homophobic town, sometime in the 1970's to 1990's, and they're all part of the marching band. And they're all some part of the LGBTQIA+ community. This will probably be somewhere on the face of America, but I suck at research and so I wanted to make this collaborative so it isn't totally sucky. Also I kinda have a thing for the general fashion of the time, it's cute. But anyways, what d'you think? I have some vague ideas of how we'll go about this but I want some help, I can't do it alone!!
Also if this gets published, would anyone mind putting their names on the work? Just a question. G'day!
May I help? I'm bored and need a life
Sure! I too am bored and in need of a life.
Yay, thanks! and lol, I'm not lonely.
That's good. So, basic characters. I kinda wanted the Colour Guard Captain to be this badass butch lesbian with rich parents who keep her from expressing herself in everything but band. Also, I want to have a shy soft boi as an aroace and flutist? But I'm not sure what I would do for other characters.
That sounds good! Sorry, I'm brain dead and need sleep
Get sleep and discuss later then? Maybe more will join, too, to take more of a load off!
I didn't get sleep but I slapped my face with water and I feel more awake now!
Well get sleep soon I hope! You should take care of you! But anyways so discuss idk?
It's not that late, it's only 8PM and I still have some homework to do anyway. Also, sure! and I low key want a badass aroace girl
Sounds good. Also, Queerplatonic crushed for life because that is how all ships should work, no?
Hitting myself repeatedly with my notebook WORK, YOU STUPID PIECE OF MEAT THAT'S STUCK IN MY DAMN HEAD
Uhh, sure? That sounds good
I dunno. I just kinda like a bunch of strong platonic love, I'm think the whole group would have that sort of relationship. Also, colour guard captain standing on top of a bus holding a bullhorn in one hand, a pride flag in the other, and shouting cusswords through aforementioned bullhorn at story's climax? Like, because I can. Idk it was an idea but it's not really complete so… idk.
Lol, that sounds amazing, and I also think the whole group would have that kind of relationship too. Would the guys and girls have to get married or something? 'Cause if so, we can say they 'married' each other while still dating/being single and the other person would be 'dense and oblivious as fuck'??? Does that make sense? Idk anymore…
I have no idea what any of that meant. Can you clarify?
Soo, let's just say the raging lesbian's parents want her to get married to a man or something because yes, she says yes and 'marries' the shy aroace soft boi just so her parents are happy. After, the lesbian would probably just keep dating whichever girl she wanted and the aroace boi would be 'oblivious' when the raging lesbian's parents ask him why they weren't spending anytime together or something
(Does that make sense?)
Hello! Are you still looking for anyone to help, because I adore this idea??? If not, it's totally cool, but….yeah
Qxeen, that makes more sense now, and maybe but it's like probs gonna be a highschool setting? But idk. And @thighighcrocs-will-be-gone-sunday absolutely! All are welcome and the more the merrier!
Does that mean I can join too?
Thanks! So…are we using a character template, or going in blind?
Basically, we're planning out a plot. General characters, how it'll go, the like. Main ideas:
Takes place in America probably, sometime while LGBT acceptance is a thing but there's still major homophobia, like the seventies, eighties, or nineties.
Soft aroace boi and hardcore butch lesbian pretending to be in a relationship to please their parents
Pride flag badassery
And like just general comedy. However let's not sacrifice the real prejudice people went through just to keep it generally lighthearted, we can let it get dark in spots too.
I've always wanted to write something that can empower members of the LGBT+ community, and this is a good opportunity with it being Pride and all.
Okay…just one problem…I don't know what LGBT means…so…yeah…help…?
Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender
Wait… you're a sheltered individual, aren't you. Hooooo boy, okay. Do you know what Pride is? Not like, being full of yourself, but LGBT Pride?
No…I'm not a teenager…I'm only 12…(turning 13 soon)
