Peering up at your flatmate, you tried not to fidget nervously, offering them a small sheepish smile. You were in trouble.
“They …followed me home?” You said hesitantly, the excuse coming off more as a question than a statement.
Staring blankly at you, they sighed loudly, stepping into the flat fully as they nudged the door shut behind them and absently locked it. Taking in the sight of you sitting on the floor with your arms full of kitten sized dragons, they finally just dropped their things and groaned loudly in exasperation.
Blushing, you could only watch as they rubbed at their face tiredly, ignoring the tiny purple dragon currently attempting to climb up to your face, little claws digging into you slightly through your shirt.
“There’s no way I can convince you to take them back to where ever you got them from, is there?” Your flatmate asked you dryly, warily watching as a particularly plump little dragon waddled over to try and play with a loose thread on their pants.

“There’s no way I can convince you to take them back to where ever you got them from, is there?” Verose asked her dryly, warily watching as a particularly plump little dragon waddled over to try and play with a loose thread on her pants. She ran a hand through her hair, sighing. "Oh, what am I thinking, of course there isn't."
"Oh this one is so cute!" She picked up a pink one with blue tipped scales as it pawed at her nose, scratching the tip of it, only making Crystal grin. "We can raise them till they have good homes, can't we?" She asked, looking up at you, big green pools transforming into puppy eyes.
Verose stared at Crystal beseechingly but gave in and cracked a small smile. "Ah fine… but they at least have to have names," she declared, leaning forward to pick up a all-black one, pressing it close to her chest, looking at it fondly.
She grinned. "I'm naming this one Periwinkle!" A pink and black one looked at her and sneezed flame. "That one is Izzy and…oh this one! This one is Pearl." It was white with light pink tipped scales and shining blue eyes, as it crooned at her and curled up in her lap. There were 6 in total dragons. "There I've named 3 now you name 3."
She glanced down at the dragon she was holding, and said, "This one's Midnight then," and looked at the two other unnamed dragons. Looking directly at a white dragon with grey wings, she added, "This is Sunny, and that lavender one over there," she pointed to a white and lavender dragon. "Is Violet," she continued.
Crystal had already gotten out her sketch pad and began to draw them, and wrote up a name chart and a short description of each dragon. As she got up to put it on the fridge, 3 of them played after her, tackling each other like puppies before running after her, trying to reach her first. "…We are going to need a LOT of meat. And a really good cheap repairman for like floors and the ceiling, and our furniture."
Verose rubbed her forehead with the heal of her hand before saying, "Ugh what did I get myself into? Well, in any case I should probably go to the store for some meat…"
She nodded. "Cow meat would be good. And fish. Since there is plenty of both meats everywhere." She petted one of them. "Oh and puppy pads! Get those so we can potty train them." She walks over and gives you a small hug. "Thank you SO much Dear, I promise to pay you back every penny!"
"Well, I expect this is going to cost me a lot," Verose made a face. She headed out the door with her car keys jingling in her hand and before closing the door she called out, "I'll be back soon!"
(Aw man, Dear and Darling is her motherly speaking quirk…here. Go look over her character sheet i have it on here)
"You better!" She said with a laugh and turned her attention to the baby dragons, then went off to tend to the what seemed like a million house plants sprinkled around the house.
A while later, Verose returned carrying three bags filled to the brim with beef and fish. Groaning, she set them down on the floor. "I hope this is enough, I just spend a hundred fifty on this stuff," she said, vaguely gesturing to the bags.
The dragons raced for the bags and Crystal got up from cuddling them on the couch, scooped them up, and went to set them on the counter before they got torn apart. They snuffled at her feet and one nearly caught her pants leg on fire as she put stuff away, and handed you the puppy mats. "Go place these around randomly."
Verose laughed at the whole exchange but took the mats and spread them around mostly random but also in places she thought they might need it
"Thank ya darling." She sighed and grabbed a bunch of tubberware containers and began to cut up the meat, singing a bit as she put some in one for each, setting them on the ground. "So cute." She watched them argue over bowls and all try to be competitive.
Verose nodded in acknowledgement and gently lifted the runt of the litter, and placed them by an abandoned food bowl to eat, seeing that they were being pushed away by the rest of their littermates
