Hey, everyone,
So I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing, but let's give it a shot.
You live in an era where the nations of the world are split into two groups, Nothundria and Dirkas. There is conflict, but not enough that an average citizen lives in fear of his or her life.
There is a certain ability in each person, but only seven people from Dirkas have unlocked it, and the number of people with access in Nothundria is unknown.
This ability is called Second Perception. Everyone has first perception, where they can infer certain fact about people by observing mannerisms, such as body language, introverts of extroverts, nerds or jocks, etc. But those with Second Perception can see deeper. No two Second Perceptions are the same. One person could see someone's greatest fear, but they cannot manipulate it. Another person could see someone's loved ones, most embarrassing moment, etc., but they cannot manipulate it.
Nobody has unlocked a Third Perception, so it is unknown if one even exists.
My character is Judah SykesBefore I continue on with my story, I should probably mention a bit about myself. I am ADD and I really like the platypus in that tree. My name is Judah Sykes, and I am a twenty-one year old from the Cayatine nations. I have a mother and younger sister. My father passed away from disease when I was fourteen. When I was fifteen years old, war suddenly swept the world until nearly every country, save a couple up north, was involved. Nobody except the very high officials are entirely sure how it started, but it was most likely a result of rising tensions between the Republic of Nothun and the nation of Dirkas. Since the falling of the previous era’s nations, the two countries have been opposing each other at every turn. And because they are two of the world’s most powerful nations, they each had countless allies that increased the conflict. Cayatine, my country, is allied with Dirkas.
Once the war had started, governments everywhere began scouting for youth with the capacity to learn what they called “second perception.” There are different levels of perception. Everybody has first perception. They can notice physical characteristics of people. Second perception is the ability to glance at anybody and be able to rank certain character qualities about them. People with second perception are called Perceptors. There are also subcategories of second perceptions. For example, I could look at anybody and see how much of an impact they will have on humanity on a scale of one to one hundred. A preschooler was a five, the leader of a nation was usually in the seventies. As a fairly high-ranking officer, I had a value of fifty-two. The value of a person changes throughout their life, but I had never seen anyone with more than a seventy-eight - the prime minister of Dirkas. And in all of history, there was never been a person known to have third perception.
When I was eighteen, I was noticed for my ability and recruited for the army. I did not have a choice but to kiss my normal teenage life behind and go to the military where I got my butt kicked into shape for a year. I was given the alias Impact, because of my perception. Then, once I turned nineteen, I slowly began to climb the ranks. In the Cayatine United Forces, there are six Perceptors. Our ability is a valuable asset to the nation.
I'm really excited to see what everyone can come up with!
