"Thanks." he says softly.
"Thanks." he says softly.
Saffi walks up to a counter and quickly buys some cookies, then motions for Jason to follow her. "Let's go…" she says.
He nods and takes her hand as they return to Milo's room. The doctor was currently checking up on him. "So you're saying I'm blind, and I'll need surgery in my knee?" Milo was saying. The doctor nods. "To remove the shrapnel and the glass." He explains. He nods, sighing softly. "And my parent's have already paid for the fees?" The doctor nods again. "Yes, we recieved the payment this morning." Milo releases a breath. "Alright."
Saffi looks down as she walks in the room and sits in a chair. Not saying anything.
Milo leans back, the doctor nodding Saffi and Jason. Milo leans back, sighing softly. "We brought cookies." Jason calls softly. Milo sits up. "Jason? Saffi?"
"Yeah…" Saffi whispers, not looking at Milo.
Milo smiles softly. Jason smiles in return. "We brought cookies." He says happily.
Saffi sighs and smiles softly, pushing hair out of her face.
Milo laughs, "Oh? What kind?" Jason giggles, "Your favorite." He says, clambering onto the bed, sitting in Milo's lap.
Saffi's smile brightens slightly at Jason's excitement and looks up. "He insisted," she says softly, laughing quietly.
Milo chuckles quietly. "No wonder." he hugs his little brother. "Aren't you going to join us Saffi?" He asks, outstretching his hand towards her general direction.
"I…I guess so…" Saffi says quietly before walking and sitting next to his bed.
He smiles softly, "Why so quiet?" Milo asks gently.
"I don't know…I just thought you would want to rest…don't wanna…you know…actually I don't know…" she whispers.
"When I can have time with you? Nope." He chuckles, feeling for her hand before taking it and bringing it to his lips.
Saffi blushes slightly, glad for a moment that he can't see her. "I'm so sorry Milo.." she whispers, her voice breaking slightly.
"Whatever for? It wasn't your fault." he says gently.
"It should have been me…" Saffi says quietly.
"No, it shouldn't have. It's my job to keep you safe." He kisses her hand again.
"But…but…I just…" she mutters, not knowing what to say. Saffi stands up slowly and gently sits next to him on the bed. "I wish this just hadn't happened.." she whispers, a tear escaping her eye.
"Neither do I, but we're together, here, safe and sound." He says gently.
"Yeah…I guess thats what's important.." she says, her face red.
He smiles softly, "That's what Is important, Saffi."
She nods slightly then realizes he can't see her. "Yeah…it is…"
He chuckles, and smiles softly.
