"Maybe we should go find your husband… He's probably waiting or something," he said it but made zero effort to move from her embrace.
"Maybe we should go find your husband… He's probably waiting or something," he said it but made zero effort to move from her embrace.
"First of all, fiancé. Second of all, he's fine. He would've come up here if he needed us."
"Fair point, and he's basically your husband." Cooper had ranks, if he was her boyfriend than she was fair game to kiss, fiance still meant fair game but with acceptations of silence. No kiss and tell. But a husband was undeniable. You can't do a married woman without a consent.
"I mean, I guess."
He fell silent again, just relaxing into her embrace.
She rested her head on his shoulder, quiet and comfortable.
His fingers laced with hers and he remained wordless, wondering how she'd react.
She squeezed his hand lightly. It wasn't anything too bad yet to she let it slide.
He considered what Ryan would think if he were to come and see this but something told him that Ryan was M.I.A. for now and it totally wasn't intentional…………
Her stomach turned over at the thought. The last time he'd caught them together, it had turned into a huge fight and she'd almost lost him.
He could just explain that nothing was really going on here, hugging and hand holding were among the common activities for affectionate friends right?
You should go look for him. But I don't want to leave Cooper alone again.
"Are we sure that Ryan's okay? He loves you, he would have been out here by now,"
"That's what I'm thinking, I'm really getting worried."
"C'mon," he stood up and pulled her with him, they were still connected by the hand. He kissed her cheek softly.
She smiled a little, tugging him along with her as she headed for the ladder again.
Cooper slid his jacket back on, looking far too formal for the situation per usual. He allowed himself to be dragged along.
She climbed down the ladder, looking around the room, slightly nervous.
"Belle, stop!" Cooper called as he saw the glowing eyes from the corner of the darkened room.
She instantly froze, her heart sent into overdrive.
Cooper jumped down the latter, "Ryan?" he said calmly but the moment he did Convel jumped on him, knocking him to the ground with a vicious roar. Shaxx roared back angrily as the wolf scratched at the demon face.
She nearly screamed, jumping back from the fight. She felt like all the air had been sucked out of the room. She couldn't breathe. She started to hyperventilate, she was going to pass out.
With great strength Shaxx threw Covel across the room, sending him hurling into a wall, hitting the floor with a great yelp. Cooper looked at Belle, his blood covered face somehow cared more about her than himself.
She slapped her hand over her mouth, trying to limit the scared, shallow, ragged breaths that passed through her lips, tears rolling down her face.
