(Lillian: We skip all the time… Only good children don't skip. Also you were sick yesterday, you don't just miraculously get better overnight.)
(Lillian: We skip all the time… Only good children don't skip. Also you were sick yesterday, you don't just miraculously get better overnight.)
(Lloyd: I don't? Well frick. I am a good child so I cannot skip. Because I am not sick.
Are you guys gonna show up now or nah)
(Fiiiiiiiiiine)
Lillian and Darren walked into the school.
(Happy?)
"Is that Lloyd?" Darren said to Lillian as they walked into the school.
(Ye)
Lloyd walked out of the bathroom, looking pale and clammy. He spotted Lillian and Darren and waved to them, shivering slightly. I didn't know it could simultaneously be boiling hot and freezing cold in a place…
"Yeah," LIllian said, "Why is he here? He should be at home recovering."
"He should be… he thew up yesterday," Darren said concern lacing his face.
"Let's go talk to him," Lillian grabbed Darren's arm and walked towards Lloyd.
Darren saw a group of the football guys and put his head down, hoping they wouldn't see him.
"Hi guys. H-How are you?" Lloyd asked, his voice hoarse and scratchy. It was almost entirely gone at this point.
"Me? How are you! Why are you here?"
"I'm f-" Lloyd started coughing. "F-Fine. I can't skip school because of this."
"I thought you were a rule follower…"
"W-What do you mean? I am! I-I thought I wasn't allowed to skip school?"
"No man, school policy says no school for 24 hours after vomiting…They sent me home the day after I had a concussion even though I was fine they said no school cause I threw up."
Paige backed away as a silver bird that she hadn't noticed at first transformed into a human and spoke. "Who are y-you?" Paige asked, her voice shaking, no matter what she tried. "What are you doing here? What is happening to my friend?"
Genatrix frowned slightly at the girl's fear, but quickly smiled. The child was a curious creature.
"My name is Genatrix. I am here because Luena is…" Genatrix struggled for moment, trying to find the right word, "poisoned. She was attacked by a hostile-" Genatrix again struggled for an easier word. "a hostile mythical creature. Who was sent to kill her.
"But that is unimportant to her current situation. I need you to bring her…" Genatrix mentally slapped herself. Luena kept her location of residence secret, and had ordered Genatrix to refrain from ever giving it out. "To bring her down to the basement. It is down the north wall, and then the furthest to the west where a Janitor's Closet is labeled."
Genatrix took a second to think. She should have all the required herbal materials in the woods… Well, save for maybe two things, but she now knew where to get them.
"I must leave now. I must go to procure some items that should help her."
Paige didn't say anything, she just stared at Genatrix with wide eyes and an open mouth. "Are you an animagus?"
"Oh no! I can't break school rules! B-But I can't just leave either… no, no, what do I do…?" Lloyd started pacing anxiously before stopping, running back into the bathroom to throw up again.
Darren followed him into the bathroom, knocking on the stall door when the sounds of vomiting seemed to stop, "C'mon I'll take you back to the nurse, she'll send you home."
Lloyd hesitated before speaking. "…O-Okay…" He stood up and looked up at Darren weakly. It's so cold in here… but also so hot… What the heck?
"Yeah man you don't look so good… Have you ever gotten sick before?" Darren looked at him strangely, "I didn't even think you could sick."
Lloyd shook his head. "I didn't know I could either… my body's not taking whatever this human disease well…" He leaned against the stall door, closing his eyes for a moment. "I didn't get any sleep last night…" He croaked, rubbing his sore throat.
Darren took Lloyd by the arm, "You need to go to the nurse man." They exited the bathroom and informed Lillian where they were going.
Lillian nodded, "I'm coming too then."
Darren nodded and all three headed to the nurse's office.
Lloyd practically just supported himself on Darren the entire time they walked. His legs felt like jello, and walking was difficult. He had dark circles under his eyes to prove his lack of sleep the night before.
