Class dragged on and eventually, the bell rang. Alek pushed Lillian on the way out the door.
Lillian stumbled and she shouted at him, "Dick!"
Alek had already walked away.

Darren sat down in his seat, he was early for his third class as he waited for Lillian to show up.
Lillian walked into third period in a very bad mood. She sat next to Darren with a hmpf.
"Hey there. What's wrong with you?" Darren's smile fading seeing Lillian was upset.
"Alek," Lillian said simply. As if it explained all the wrongs in the world.
Darren understood, "Do I need to kill him?"
"Not yet," Lillian said, "Let me go through him first."
Darren laughed, "You're cute when you're mad.
Lillian blushed, "Shut up."
"So what did he do to make you this cute… I mean angry" Darren asked smiling.
"First he wanted to know why I hate him so much, I mean that's just obvious. Then he said I really was stupid and worth nothing after I refused to answer his question. Then he tried to describe me himself, I mean like seriously that was so far off, I am not an annoying self centered prick. Finally he said my mom," she took a shaky breath, "Needed to beat some sense into me. Then the teacher came up behind us and told us to stop flirting, and I mean anyone with a brain would know that was the complete opposite of what we were doing. And as we walked out the door he pushed me. So yeah, that's what."
Darren's smile turned to pure anger, "He pushed you, are you okay? Wait he said what about your mom?"
"I'm fine," Lillian sighed, "He said my mom needed to beat some sense into me."
Darren's hands balled into fists and his face turned red in anger. "I'll beat some sense into him."
Lillian placed a hand on his, "Hey, it's okay. Everything's good here. I can take care of it."
"He can't just do that to you Lil, you gotta stand up for yourself." Darren released his fist and grabbed Lillian's hand his face still red.
"And I did," Lillian said softly, "I stood up to him my way. It might not have been very effective sure, but I did it nonetheless."
"He can't get away with it." Darren's anger fading into sorrow.
Lillian sighed, "Sometimes that the best thing to do Darren."
"You don't really believe that do you?" He said turning toward Lillian.
Lillian put her head down, "I don't know. I mean yeah, when it comes to guys like him ignoring him is the best option. But I don't know if it's the right thing to do."
Darren sighed, he didn't really want to talk about it. He was making her upset.
Lillian sighed. She closed her eyes and tried to get some peace of mind.
