(What's poppin', fam?)
(What's poppin', fam?)
I'm stressed and I think I'm ready to die.
"Preach it sister." She leaned back in her chair, sipping her coffee.
(Not much, also if you want to go ahead.)
(And suddenly it's a reunion!)
(Okay, don't die. Stress sucks, but no death.)
Lillian nodded and sipped her own coffee, "Mhm."
"We don't get enough credit for all we do."
(Would anyone be that shocked if I didn't come back until next year…)
(A little but I'd mostly just miss you and probably think you'd just left for good)
(A little yeah. Whatcha thinking of?)
"No one does, or ever will. Life sucks."
"Yep. The poor stage crew."
(I'm pre-occupied right now and this summer I'm working 2 or three jobs… I dunno. I'm gonna be really busy)
(Well, you do what you have to but don't forget about us over here, okay?)
(Jesus, that sounds real busy. But I got no problems.)
"The poor poor stage crew," Lillian shook her head, "But isn't always just about you guys."
"No, definitely not. All the crew is necessary, not just us for stage."
"Yeah, but your redirecting the whole conversation about just the stage crew. The crew can make a stage look great and function properly, but without the actors there would be no show to be put on."
"Right, yeah, you guys are kind of the reason we have the show in the first place. But you guys are always in the spotlight, let the stage manager talk a little bit about her children, will you?"
"Fine," Lillian put her hands up. She had forgotten how stubborn Belle was.
"Welcome back to me, I'm a stubborn bitch. But I'm kidding, you talk about cast, what's it like to be out there?"
"It's exhilarating," Lillian said whimsically, "All eyes are on you and you can hear the baited breaths and laughter as you perform. Nothing feels more magical than getting to play someone else. You get to know your character like the back of your hand. It's freeing honestly."
"Getting to be someone else, even if it's just for a couple hours. Yeah, I know the feeling. But I figure I'm just not cut out for the stage."
"Yeah, I get that," Lillian sighed, "But you might be."
"If I can get over the initial anxiety then sure! I'd be fucking great!"
