"Okay, wait for him in the hallway,"
"Okay, wait for him in the hallway,"
Lillian nodded as she smiled and walked out into the hallway. Bouncing on her toes waiting for Darren to get out.
Darren slumped out and zipped his sweatshirt up, trying to disappear into it. He was visually deflated.
Lillian gave him a big smile. She walked up to him and said, "Guess what babe."
"Chicken butt?" he sighed.
"Yes, and your cancer is officially gone!" Lillian said happily. Almost like a small child announcing they had been giving the best present ever.
His eyebrows shot up and his face portrayed disbelief, "Wait… Really?"
Lillian nodded still beaming at him, "Yes really."
Darren pulled her into a crushing hug and lifted her off the ground, "It's gone… It's all gone,"
Lillian was laughing as she hugged him back burying her face against him, "It's all gone babe."
He could feel the tears coming as he laughed, "We can go," he cheered.
"Yeah, let's go Dare!" Lillian cheered tears of joy falling down.
"No, I mean we don't have to stay. I told you when we met that I'd take you away from all of this and this was the only thing keeping us here." He wasn't thinking clearly, just excited talk.
Lillian paused before letting out a happy sigh, "Yeah. We can get away from it all now."
"If you still want to… Yeah. We can. I was thinking about college in New York. It seemed like it had a good music and acting program for both of us… I dunno,"
Lillian smiled up at him, "That's exactly what I was thinking. Though it would be hella expensive."
"I have money… for both of us… My dad does but I do too from my mom,"
"Then I guess we can go to college in New York," Lillian said with a happy laugh.
"I have to stay for awhile, like the summer… To see if Coop get's any better,"
"Yeah, but school shouldn't start up until the fall. So everything will be fine and we hopefully won't miss any classes. Holy shit college."
"Yeah… College, and we won't even have to split up if we to the same one. Or… We could get an apartment together?"
"I like that, I mean we basically do that anyway."
"I think it'll be near perfect then,"
"It'll be damn close. I can't wait babe."
He just realized he had never stopped hugging her so he let go, "Let's go home,"
