"So," Darren repeated, "What's with the sweats? It's hot,"
Cooper took the hoodie off, his ribs visible through his skin. He looked incredibly unhealthy but most noticeable was a dark mark on his stomach. "I didn't think it would hurt so much," he muttered.
Lillian couldn't move her eyes from the mark, "That's awful. I'm so sorry Cooper."
Darren knew what that spot meant. It meant the beginning of the end for his brother. More would form and Cooper would become a living skeleton with his weight loss. This time, it was Darren to pull him into a hug. "I'm sorry,"
Lillian didn’t know what it meant, but she wanted to help fix it. She just needed to know how.
"Well, you can come have fun at the beach with us because there's no one else here and we don't care what you look like," Darren smiled and patted his brother's back. "Right, Lil?"
Lillian nodded and gave Cooper a bright smile, “Right!”
Cooper smiled, "Thank's, It means a lot to me,"
Lillian smile grew sincere, “Yep. We’re here for you Cooper.”
Darren ran back out into the waves. Cooper smiled back at Lillian. "Remission, that's good for both of you, huh?"
Lillian nodded again as she let out a small happy sigh, “Yeah it is. It’s different though ya know?”
“I don’t have to constantly worry about everything. Like he can do stuff for himself and it’ll be fine. It’s just hard to explain.”
"Oh, no I get it. It's like you used to have to watch him like a child. Making sure he doesn't get hurt and that everything's okay with him but now that he's okay, at the end of the day, he's an adult and now you don't have to protect him?"
“Yeah. Exactly like that.”
"That makes sense. If it makes you feel any better, he still has brain damage, you can see it in his hand. You'll always have to help him and you can mother me if you want," He grinned.
Lillian laughed as she grinned back, “Looks like I have yet another child. Besides Darren of course. I’m going to help you the best I can.”
(Yeah, I guess. Jacks slept too… so… I guess)
Lillian laughed as she grinned back, “Looks like I have yet another child. Besides Darren of course. I’m going to help you the best I can.”
"Thanks." he smiled a little, "You're like the sister I never had, I'm glad Darren has you,"
(Sorry, but I is very tired.)
“Awww. I’m glad I have Darren too. And you too I guess,” Lillian said in a joking manner.
(It's fine. Sleep well)
"I wouldn't be happy to have me," he smiled a little and stepped forward to let the water hit his feet.
Lillian kept next to him, “You’re actually really nice to be around, I’m glad you’re still here.”
“I can be a real pain in the ass, I know that. I think this whole thing with, Uhh… Belle… it’s kknda drained my confidence so I’m probably nicer to be around than I used to be,” he hesitated on Belles name.
Lillian paused and sighed, "I'm well aware of your pain in the assery. But I'm sure we can fix this, you'll be confident soon enough."
“I think every few weeks I should show up at their house and just kiss her to keep me healthy,” he joked.
Lillian laughed, "I would love to see that."
He laughed too but it all disappeared with a pang in his heart, “I miss her more everyday but she just feels so out of reach,”
(She's the queen of hell and you hurt her, don't know what else you were expecting other than for her to shut you out and hurt you 10x worse tbh.)
(He can’t help it. He’s literally dying and he hurt her years ago. She’s just hurting an innocent at this point.)
(He forced her to leave when she had no one else. He forced her to be alone and that's something she can't forgive.)
