“I got lucky.” he smiled, chuckling a little. “It was during my first month of volunteering for beach cleanup and I wandered a little too far away from the group when I thought I caught a glimpse of something metal wedged between some of the rocks. Turns out, it was just the sun reflecting on one of these shiny rocks.”
"See you are lucky!" She couldn't help but laugh at herself
Marcus laughed softly with her and shrugged. “Maybe I am… But I haven't won a lottery yet.” he teased.
"Well maybe you're not… That kind of lucky."
“Yeah. You're probably right.” he nodded. “Still… Would be nice to win one.”
"Oh definitely. " she chuckled a little
He chuckled with her and brushed his hair back.
"Again.. Thank you for bringing me here it's beautiful"
“My pleasure.” he smiled softly.
He could feel his face warm as he looked at her, but the cove was dark enough that he didn't think she could see it.
She didn't see the blush she she had one too she kept smiling at him
“So… Was the ocean the reason why you came out here for vacation?” he asked, imagining that England had its fair share of beaches too.
"No I just needed an escape you know? "
“Yeah, I know what you mean.” he nodded. “You needed some good space between you and there.”
"Exactly it was just the same stuff every day an it was boring. "
“Makes sense. A break in the everyday normalcy and mundane.” he nodded.
"Yeah…" She sighed quietly looking at the water
“Well, I hope you find what you need while you're here.” he smiled softly, leaning his head back against the rock.
"I think I might have already found it.. " she said under her breath
“Hmm? What was that?” he asked, his ears burning slightly even though he didn't catch what she said.
"Um nothing I just said I hope I do too. '
"Sorry… I'm still a little nervous. "
“Nervous about what?” he asked, looking down at her with a slightly raised brow.
