Amanda looked at Max intently out of the corner of her eye and bit her inner lip slightly

James nodded and thought for a second before pulling a piece of paper out of his pocket, writing something down and putting it back, "Thank you for your input,"

"Aren't you gonna be late dude?"

James looked at the time, "No, I do not want to go,"

"Well if you're late you'll get punished."

James thought about being punished he did not like the thought but if he went he was afraid of getting pushed around again, "I am not going today, Do you want breakfast I can go pick food up somewhere,"

Max went over to him. "Why not? You were really pumped about it last week."

James sighed, "No I do not want to."

James was relieved they didn't ask anything more about school although he was certain Amanda wouldn't let him skip. "Okay I will get breakfast," He stood up.

Max went back over to the window. "Do you think he's avoiding school?"

"Maybe, but we should give him some space" Amanda added
