"maybe…. but not right now…" said Damian softly, looking back down by his feet in the moonlight, paling when he realized his shadow was missing.
"maybe…. but not right now…" said Damian softly, looking back down by his feet in the moonlight, paling when he realized his shadow was missing.
Briar looked down too and her shadow was gone aswell, when a dark hand put a dagger to her throat.
Damian warped, landing a few feet away to face his own shadow, blade drawn. "Ok why are you doing this now?!" he demanded of the shadow, "And you" he glared at Briar's shadow, "Need to let her go right now!"
¨or what¨ The shawdow thearteaned.
Damian glared at it, fingers twitching as a gold streak entered his hair. Suddenly fire whips pulled the shadow away from Briar, burning it. "That" he said flatly, glaring at both of them.
The shadow laughed as Briar held her arm in pain ¨Ow¨.
Damian looked at her, "Oh great!" he said sarcastically, letting the fire aura fade, "That's just great" he sheathed his blade too, not wanting to find out what would happen if he used that on a shadow. "What do you want?!"
The shadows appeared behind Briar ¨Simple give us the girl¨ the male shadow said.
"Not happening." said Damian flatly. "You can have me. But not her, I will not allow you anything that would remotely involve hurting her. Physically or mentally.." he added in that last part, knowing she'd probably get mad if he got himself hurt, but he knew what that was like already.
The male shadow wrapped his arm around the female.
¨Damian¨ Briar said softly.
Damian tensed, he wasn't sure what to do without hurting Briar.
¨Just go¨ she said.
"Not leaving you" he said flatly. Trying to figure out a way around them when he had an idea. Grasping his amulet once more, he summoned an aura even colder than his. Focusing, a silver streak ran through his hair as a wall of ice shot up around the shadows' bodies. He knew it qould probably cause Briar to be freezing cold, but now she had a chance to get away.
The shadows pushed her to a tree before freezing up.
Damian warped to her side, setting up a shadow shield around them, only the shadows had a red hue, Damian's own brand of shadow, impenetrable to other shadows.
briar looked at him her head bleeding from the impact.
Damian kept one eye on the shadows, watching Briar, "Are you alright?"
Briar wrapped her arms around him in a hug.
Damian wrapped his free hand around her, focusing on keeping the shadows frozen. "Listen, I can't keep our shadows frozen forever…." he told her, "I need you to get that dragon of yours to get you far away from here. Leave me, just go, you can come back for me in the morning."
she shooke her head ¨N-no I-I can´t ¨ she stuttered.
"You have to!" said Damian, "I can't fight them off if I risk hurting you! I'll have a better chance if you're out of the picture."
Briar nodded as she leaned in and kissed him gently.
Damian blushed, watching her, "Please, just get out of here before I lose control of the ice…"
¨I promise I´ll come back¨ she said as she whistled and getting on thorn looking at Briar one last time before taking off.
Damian watched her go, waiting until she was out of sight before letting himself fall to his knees, exhausted. The ice dissolved as he fell, leaving two angry shadows, free to do what they wanted.
