"Yea yea whatever. since when did you have friends? does your brother pay them?" she laughed "You can go socalize with them now, but you'll find yourself with me again sometime again tonight. im hard to stay away from" she patted his chest and walked around him, and towards the crowded living room, pulling at her skirt once again so it wouldnt fly up.
August scowled at her back as she walked away, then brushed off where she touched him in disgust. What a vain little-
"What's your problem with her?" Jace popped up.
"Well, hello to you too," he sighed and turned away to follow Jace, eager to forget about the encounter.
Calista walked, well pushed through the crowd, and found her best friend in the middle of the room. She was grinding on someone… Calistas boyfriend, Reese. "How dare you? I came her for you and you betray me? all ive ever done is support you, both of you, and this is how you repay me?" "Its not what it looks like" they said in unison. Calista ran through the people, tears streaming down her face. She made her way through the crowd, and found her way to the downstairs bathroom. She ran in and half slammed the door.
"You've never been specific, Auggie. What's with you two?" Jace insisted.
August only shook his head, grabbing a snack from the table. "I have to go to the bathroom, so if you'll excuse me…"
Jace sighed at the obvious dodge, but let him go nonetheless.
Calista stood against the wall and slid down. She had forgotten to lock the door, but didnt care. she buried her head in her hands and sobbed. She did care who heard, she didnt care if nobody found her, she didnt care that her make up was running down her face, she did care what happened. She had to let it out now, or it would build up and she would explode.
He came to what he assumed was the bathroom door, only to pause as he heard what sounded like… sobbing… a door down. "Hey, are you okay?" he called through the door.
Calista knew that voice, she couldnt place it though. She stood and opened the door and almost slammed it closed right then. "D-Do i look okay to you?" she said, between sobs.
He could not deal with girls crying. He couldn't deal with Calista. Pushing all that away, he knew he had to do something still. Even if he wasn't the best one for this stuff. "What uh… what happened?"
"Like you care. You probably saw it before i did anyway." she felt so vulnerable. Helpless, worthless even. She turned around and put her hands on the edge of the sink and let her tears fall into it. "Everyone probably saw it. And ill just be another notch on his belt" she thought out loud.
"…I have no idea what you're talking about?"
"My best friend. well… newly ex best frined. and newly ex boyfrined grinding on the dance floor. what did i ever do to them? what do i ever do to anyone to make them hate me? why am i suck a hateable person?" she said, her voice cracking every once in a while. She turned around, make up running down her face, waiting for an answer.
"…I dunno kid. People are just jerks; sometimes it's not necessarily you, it's them. You're not really a hate able person… being honest I think you're quite… chill…" August was not good at comforting. Did he do horrible? He had no idea.
"then why does it seem like you hate me? what did i do for you to seemingly hate me?" she said, she had stopped crying for the moment, but she knew there would be more later. "Tension. whys there always tension?"
He was practically sweating from the uncomfortableness. "Because…? Uh. I thought… Hm. It seemed you started it so…"
"And you took whatever it was literally?" she said, almost laughing. "Sweetheart, im not literal in cases like this. its called sarcasm, i use it often." she thought for a moment. "So… so you dont hate me?" she said, and turned around again quickly, waiting for the rejection shes so accustomed to.
"…No. I mean, you can be annoying when you want to, which makes me annoyed at you in turn, but I don't hate you. Hate's a strong word."
"So is love, and theyre both just four simple letters. He told me he loved me, and maybe, just maybe it was too strong for him." she said. Calista grabbed some toilet paper and wiped her face down. "I know im annoying, i dont mean to be. but i am"
(Good morning friend)
August shifted. "Yeah… okay."
(its actlly afternoon for me but good morning!)
"im sorry i think i should just go. i shouldnt have put all of this on you" she tossed the toilet paper and stepped out. "All yours"
(Lol oh.. good afternoon then
The Vote RP is killing me with the suspense…)
He grabbed the toilet paper before it reached the ground. "H-Hey, wait. You don't have to go… Um. Maybe you could hang out with me and my brother…" August floundered.
She stopped and turned around. "Like you want me around anyway. i need to fix this makeup before i go back out anyway…" she trailed off.
August wouldn't push her. "Whatever floats your boat," he shrugged.
"Im just going to run upstairs. maybe ill see you guys later." she said, and headed for the stairs. She made her way up to her ex bestfriends room. she found the spare bag of makeup she kept in her vanity. she re did her foundation, eyeshadow, and mascara. she fixed the blush, contour, and highlight. Calista knew she had to go back down stairs. she had to make this a good time, even if her two closest and most trusted people turned on her.
