“I don’t know how to get it past your thick skull that I. Don’t. CARE! I’m literally tryin’ to destroy your planet!! NONE of you will survive!!!” She explained aggressively.
“Oh, trust me, friends don’t exist. It’s a false promise. A scam.
Spinel immediately stopped, looking like a deer in the headlights. Suddenly, she became even more enraged, clenching her fists before flipping a switch on the stick, quickly extending it into a futuristic-looking scythe, and swung it wildly at Elara, hitting her multiple times.
But nothing happened.
Well, aside from Elara having a glowing pattern that looked quite like circuit boards, but those quickly disappeared. “JUST CAN IT!!!” She snarled, stretching her legs again, looking ready to attack again.
(wait so does elara actually get physically hurt by the scythe or no?)
(No, she’s fine, it would just feel weird)
(okay then, ill try to get a reply up soon)
Elara flinched, expecting an impact, but a look of confusion crossed her face when she realised that she had technically been hit, but at the same time not. At Spinel's words, Elara blinked at her. "…I'm not scared of death anymore. So what if I die when you destroy this planet? It's not death I'm scared of, it's dying that I'm scared of."
Kaori, however was still young and was scared of death and dying. But as Elara spoke, she looked up at her older friend, a new hope rising in her chest. Her friend would protect her. It would be alright.
"Look, Spinel, I don't know what happened to you in the past, but friends do exist!! I know enough about them to know that these are my friends, and they will do their best to protect me!" Kaori spoke up, frustrated that for some reason Spinel seemed fixated on the idea that friends didn't exist.
“Oh, of course it doesn’t work on humans!”
“Well, you should be…” She snapped back, looking ready to resort to punching her.
Spinel turned her psychotic glare to Kaori, now seeming angrier than before, her quite expressive hair fluffing up with rage, beginning to tremble aggressively, and she seemed to be locked on to her.
“You’re not the person that was made to be a friend… In my opinion, you don’t know enough!” She said, chuckling eerily.
“You think they’re gonna’ help you..? Well, I can promise you, they’re not.
Oh, so you wanna know how I feel..? I’m gonna’ kill your “friends” so you can see how I feel…” Spinel said, obviously starting to lose it even more.
“How would you like it if I left you somewhere? How would you like it if you stayed there? If you stayed there while everyone moved on and forgot about you? How would you feel if these two betrayed you? Tricked you? If they had their lives without you? As you watched the world around you shrivel and decay? They lived a happy live, happy that you’re gone? That you’re STILL WAITING?!! Waiting for them, and waiting and waiting and waiting… Even though they PROMISED THEY’D COME BACK?!” She roared, grabbing her by the collar of her shirt, bringing her face-to-face. “YOUR BEST FRIENDS LEAVING YOU ALLLLL ALONE WITH NO ONE ELSE WHO CARES ABOUT YOU, LOVES YOU, YOU’RE JUST STANDING IN PLACE LIKE A GOOD LITTLE GEM, DOING WHAT SHE TOLD YOU TO DO. DO YOU THINK YOU COULD BELIEVE IN FRIENDSHIP AFTER THAT?! HUH?!!!!”
(eeee. I’m so sorry! I haven’t been on for a while. My username says it all… I’ll post soon!)
(Don’t worry about it, okay?)
(okay but spinel needs a good long hug)
(also i'll provide a short-ish response so mosis doesn't get too lost but then leave it at that)
Eos dashed in, doing their best to shove Spinel aside and free their small friend. "Don't touch her!"
Kaori gently put her hands on Eos' shoulders, saying, "I'll be fine, let me handle this," to which Eos gave her a doubtful look but moved away so Kaori could do whatever it was she wanted to do.
A genuine look of understanding crossed Kaori's face as she listened to Spinel rant. "…I'm sorry about that, I truly am. But if they truly did such a thing, than they weren't your friends. As for the forgetting part… everyone gets forgotten eventually, and maybe you were gone for so long that your family didn't know if you were ever coming back, if you could come back," she said slowly as she tried to put her thoughts into words. "But no matter how betrayed, how heartbroken you might feel, violence and/or revenge is never the answer. They weren't real friends, not like Elara and Eos. I've been around them for several years and I've gotten to know them quite well."
After a long pause, Kaori finally got around to Spinel's last question. "…yes, I could, and would. Because even in the depths of the darkest oceans, some light always shines through. Even if you're still waiting, waiting for the ones who will never come back to come back, there's always a little hope. There's no point in living in the past, if they don't come, they don't come. It's time to move on, and eventually, I'd have to forgive them. Not because they said sorry, not because they came back and provided an excuse, but because my small heart can't hate anyone for too long. Friendship exists, I'm just sorry that you had to go through that, but hey, you're still alive at least!"
(Phew that was kinda long, sorry, but I'm borrowing Kaori from your lie in april haha so I had to go find ylia quotes)
She dropped the youngest of the group, sharply turning to the others with rage.
“Everyone gets forgotten? Everyone gets forgotten?! I NEVER FORGOT ABOUT HER, YOU THINK SHE SIMPLY JUST FORGOT ABOUT ME?! I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HER BEST FRIEND, I WAS MADE FOR HER!!” Spinel roared.
“Move on…? MOVE ON?!!! I SPENT MOST OF MY LIFE WAITING, AND YOU THINK I CAN JUST “MOVE ON” AFTER EVERYTHING I’VE BEEN THROUGH?!!!!! SHE’S DEAD, YOU DUMB DORA! SHE DIED HAPPILY, KNOWING I WAITED THROUGH A WAR, THROUGH AN ENTIRE ERA, THROUGH EVERYTHING THATS EVER HAPPENED!! SHE KNEW WHERE I WAS! SHE KNEW I WAS THERE! YET SHE NEVER CAME BACK!! EVERY SECOND FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE SHE CHOSE TO LEAVE ME!!!” She screamed, proceeding to punch the child across the face. She looked like she was going to attack again, but what Kaori said next made her stop, dropping her hands to her sides.
“Heh. “At least I’m still alive.” “ Spinel repeated, a sudden calm darkness crossing her face as she looked down.
“Do you really think I still wanna’ be alive after what happened….?”
(Hi, so I was busy for a while and couldn't really get my character up, can I still do this? I don't have to join in right away if it doesn't work for the story but I hope I can still do this!)
(Like my character could appear just like. Investigating what's going on pretty easily based on the current situation but like idk whatever you guys want.)
(Do it! It’ll be great to have someone else participate!)
(Sorry I responded so late but hey I'm here now! Anyways I'll post a thing one sec.)
A loud rumbling shook the water, a large shadow being cast over from the foreign object hitting the ground and settling. It cast over the entire beach, looming like it meant no good. It didn't mean any good, in fact.
A man, pale and goth with badly dyed black hair looked up from his kayak and groaned. He had strange burn scars all over except around the tattoos of small eyes over his joints and heart, and the didn't go up to his neck or head either, striking features that tended to make people ask more questions than was comfortable in most circumstances.
"Is the afterlife seriously going to shit too? I just got here!" he complained, nevertheless paddling back to shore.
He trudged up the hill, pulling the heavy leather jacket closer around his shoulders. The world felt cold, and he was shocked to find there were people already there, as well as a pink something or someone apparently laughing maniacally, shouting about something he couldn't quite make out. The being quickly turned from manic to enraged, and he heard something about…
Waiting, someone leaving, nothing he could clearly discern.
"Hey! What the hell's going on over here?" he shouted, calm but confused to the onlookers.
(Hope this is okay. You'll find out who this mad lad is in a minute, don't worry.)
It seemed Spinel had finally calmed down, or at least become docile, her attacks halting as she gave her devastating implication with a broken smile.
But that didn’t last long, as her moment was interrupted by the stranger who had called out to them. She whipped around to at him, jumping back into an attack stance, disturbed and alert, and readying her futuristic scythe. She bared her teeth with aggression as she snarled angrily, looking just about ready to reengage in combat. Which she was.
(hhhhhhh sry i've kinda lost motivation today so if it's okay i'll put this on my rp todo list and come back to it when i find inspiration and/or someone else replies)
(I am sorry, normally I'd have inspiration but right now I am lacking. Sorry again, I just don't know what to post.)
The man grumbled to himself and let out a few unfortunately worded phrases more colorful than a Jackson Pollock painting.
"Why do you have to swoop in and ruin other people's not-super-terrible days, man?" he hiked up to meet the pink… whatever. It could be one of the Distortion's, although he wasn't sure Entities existed in the afterlife.
"Anyways, what's your deal? Who even are you? I am like, so confused right now." he said.
“Ey, you’re the one who just screamed at us, ya dull bag a’ flesh.” She snarled back, hopping closer.
“What I’m gonna’ do is destroy this place! Get with the times!” The pink women hissed, getting in his face and placing the scythe to his back so that it prevented the stranger from backing away.
“Now, quit being a wet blanket and just die for me! That’d make my job a heck of a lot easier!”
"I've already done enough dying, thanks." he said, bored. It was certainly a weird, fizzly sensation with the scythe… thing, so close to him, but he'd experienced far worse. Chalk that up to Gertie, he supposed. She'd likely end him if she knew he'd called her that, but she wasn't here and he wasn't so preoccupied with death like he'd been when he was quite a bit younger.
"Seriously though, who in the fuck are you? And why are you so hell bent on destroying things? I honestly want to know, most people I met who tried to destroy things were cultists and monstrous pigs with an appetite for innocent clowns. Not like the- I'm sorry, you don't need to know that. Can I at least get a name before you burn the world down?" he asked, a little dazed and unsure how to handle the situation.
(My lad's just like: screw it, I'm just gonna let this pink lady do her thing. I don't really care. I'm just gonna vibe over here and hope she either calms down or goes to therapy.)
