"And on this side, we have Rvan… uh, hey kid, what was your surname? Is this microphone still on? D*mn it!"
Rvan shrugged as the spotlight flashed on him. He had to blink a few times before morphing into his form. The crowd started to murmur at his appearance.
Her enhanced dragon eyesight she could see her target. Her iced jaw dropped once she felt his aura. It was a dark aura. Could he actually be a shad..
Rvan has never been in a fight before. This one looked like ice, but he couldn't be sure. He let darkness pour out of him, creating a void-like wall around him.
Skylar brought the temperature down by 10 degrees and blew her frost breath into the growing void that oozed from her target.
Rvan felt the slight drop in temperature, but his void sucked up the ice that came out of her mouth. And then he lashed out at her, surrounding her with shadows.
When her target emerged form the shadows and scratched at her side, he didn’t have a speck of ice on him. Crap. Skylar flew over darkness and surrounded the ice expanse with walls of ice. Hopefully that would keep it from spreading.
Rvan made his shade roll over the ice. He needed to trap her. He lunged for her neck. He needed this to be done quick. Rvan couldn't afford to lose, that would only lead him to endless fights against endless oponents, a slave to the sick game they played.
His head emerged from the darkness. Shadows gushed from his dagger-like fangs as he opened his maw. He was going for her neck. He was new. Skylar realized. To knew to know. Skylar shot an icy spear down his throat.
Note the icy spear came from her own mouth
Rvan fell back, trying to cough, but couldn't. Trying to breath, but couldn’t. He tried to bring up shadows around himself, but he couldn't. He was choking. Rvan crashed against the side of the arena, a look of sheer panic on his face.
The crowds were cheering. Chanting Skylar’s name over and again. This was her area. Her battle field. Skylar blew the swirling void away with a swift flap of her enormous wings. There she saw her target laying on the floor of the arena, choking smoke. Skylar descended from the sky, with her fangs unhinged and another spear of ice forming in the back of her throat. “Finish it!” Her mother cried in the back of her mind. Skylar was about to send the target back to his human form when he looked up at her. His eyes were filled with utter terror. All the memories of her first time in the arena. The wounds, the blood, the fear flooded her mind. Skylar’s instincts screamed her for to claw out his heart, but she couldn’t. Skylar hesitated.
(He's choking on IcE, btw)
Rvan's heart raced. He couldnt change back. Then his neck would flipping explode. Darkness out of his control appeared at the corner of his eyes.
Skylar howevered over him. Placed her clawed dragonic hand on his chest and whispered in his ear, “You will change to your human form when I melt the ice, understand.” Skylar melted the ice. Her mother would never forgive for this stupid mistake, but Skylar would never forgive herself if she killed him.
Rvan gasped out as he shrunk down into his tinnier form. The weight of her claws over him felt like a boulder. He couldn't stop heaving and coughing as water jerked in and out of his lungs.
It was costum for the victory fly back to there original perch in the arena, let out roar triumph and then change back… but Skylar found herself changing back before the boy. She offered him a hand. “You should research your opponent next time. That was my signature move.” She told in him, without the slightest hint of empathy. Skylar was pretty sure her mother would disown her if she spoke kindly to her opponents.
Rvan cocked his head up, water still dripping down his chin, "R-Research? You can research opponents? You have a signature move?" Gosh, he didn't know anything about this game. Why'd he have to get caught… he was unregistered. He just wasted all of his parent's hard work on keeping him a secret.
Skylar eyes widened. He spoke as if he had never even watched the Games before. Skylar was about ask him how long he had been able to change when the spotlights went dark. Skylar couldn’t see her opponent anymore. Reporter poured into the arena and surrounded Skylar. Their cameras flashed and further impaired Skylar ability to see. Skylar tried to look for her opponent as the crowd escorted her backed to the arena’s entrance, but the reporters were crowding around him too. Skylar sighed and said, “Goodluck with them newbie.”
Rvan shielded his eyes as a gruff human man pulled him up. He stumbled. He could barely hear one reporter over the other. He was pulled through the crowd into an elevator and was about to descend with the gruff human, but a reporter shoved her way in. He had fuzz for a beard and a permanent sneer on his face. Rvan tried to make himself smaller in the corner.
A reporter and a cameraman had slipped the elevator with Rvan and the gruff man. “Mr. Sturgefire, I hope you don’t mind if I ask you and Rvan some questions?”
“Well, it nice to see you as well Angelica. Since when did you start asking for permission to barrage people with questions?” Mr. Sturgefire, the gruff man, growled at the reporter. Angelica glared at the gruff man in front of her. “We are on live T.V., Max,” she hissed at Mr. Sturgefire. Mr. Sturgefire returned Angelica’s glare and plastered a ridiculously obviously false smile on his face and said in a high pitched voice, “Oh well, then ask away, dearly. We totally won’t be annoyed by your pressence.” Angelica sneered at Mr.Sturgefire one last time before turning to Rvan. “Rvan, we have never seen a dragon morpher with your elemental affiliation. Do you think this will give you the extra edge on your opponent in future battles?”
“Uh… Extra edge? I don't know…" Rvan mumbled, trying to shrink farther in the corner.
“Oh well, have you at least decided which elemental team you are going to join? Or are your going to form your team and take on all of the other elemental teams on your own?
“…Elemental t-teams? What do you -uh- mean?" Rvan stuttered just as the elevator doors opened. He nearly lunged out when the gruff human made a sign of leaving.
“Are saying you don’t even know anything about the elemental teams?!” Angelica shouted preparing to follow Rvan out of the elevator. However, before Angelica set a foot out of the elevator, the carpet burst into flames. “Give the boy some space, Angelica,” a new voice growled.
Rvan nearly jumped out of his skin, tripping but catching himself. He instinctively brought shadows up around him as he looked to the new voice. A grey haired draman stood not a few feet away from him, "W-Who are you?"
