He backed away slightly. "Oh, no." Cade shook his head. "I just started to trust you. I don't think we're on dancing terms yet."
He backed away slightly. "Oh, no." Cade shook his head. "I just started to trust you. I don't think we're on dancing terms yet."
“It’s for survival, come on. Are you scared?”, she teased.
He glared at her slightly, crossing his arms. "No…" Cade walked forward, placing his mask on a seat nearby.
Harper stood up. "While you guys do that……I have something to do. I'll be back in about an jour, kay?"
Cade waved to Harper as she left. Good…one less person to witness my embarrassment…
Scarlet took off her mask as well, stepping forward. “Both hands around my waist.”, she ordered, placing her ifht in his shoulder and her left on his waist.
He flinched slightly, placing both of his hands on each side of her waist awkwardly and barely touching her.
She rolled her eyes. “People will stare if you do this to other girls at the dance. Now, follow my lead.” She lead him slowly through some basic steps, singing the music herself since they didn’t have a band.
Cade tried to relax by taking a deep breath. He adjusted his hands so they were more comfortable around her waist, and he followed her steps carefully so he wouldn't mess up.
They twirled around the room together, Cade stumbling a few times. “Hey, you’re oretty good at this! Now it’s your turn to take the lead.” She smiled.
"Heh…no." Cade shook his head. "I can barely follow, much less lead."
“Come on.”, she prompted gently, swaying slightly. “You’re doing fine, and the ladies at the ball sure as hell won’t be leading.”
He sighed. "Alright, I guess I can try…" Cade stared at the floor and began leading the princess around the room, trying not to trip.
“You’re doing great.”, she assured him, the realization that there was a boy holding her waist hitting her like a sledgehammer. She ignored it though. “Relax, away a little more.”
Cade listened to her, relaxing his body slightly. He was suddenly aware that Quinn was in the room as well, probably watching them. "How'd you learn to do this princess?"
“I have a name, you know.”, she laughed. “And I’m -unfortunately- the daughter of the Queen, I’ve attended more balls in my life than I can count.”
"What's your name again?" He asked, slight sarcasm in his voice. Cade was becoming more comfortable with the dance, so he looked up from the floor.
Scarlet rolled my eyes. “Scarlet. But I hate it, and everything that has to do with the colour red.”
"Scarlet…nah, princess is better." He grinned. "That's your new name."
She groaned. “Gee thanks. What do I call you then?”
"Cade. I don't have a nickname." He smirked.
She huffed. “You will soon.”
"Good luck thinking of one." Cade chuckled. The only nickname he had ever had was Lockwood, which is what some of the shopkeepers back at the village called him.
“What’s your last name?”
He shook his head. "I'm not telling you." Dang..she catches on fast…
