(Great intro post!)
"The equipment will be no issue. I'm sure a few purchases will supplement what I can already lend you from my supplies." The doctor noted. He thought of the other accommodations, as well as his wording, wary of the woman at the next table. Unsure if she had any business with them, he didn't want to share anything sounding too incriminating.
"I can offer a space for your set-up and company. The size may vary depending on how many others I end up housing. As for your creation, keep it out of trouble." He stated, making sure the last comment was firm. The last thing he needed was anything in his home, wrecking the charms protecting it. Dr.Havel glanced over at the woman again, deciding he'd rather be rude than unsure.
"Do you happen to be here looking for anyone? If not meeting with us, I'd like to ask that you move." He asked her. The words were as polite as he could manage, though the lack of a smile perhaps canceled that out.
(thank you!! :D)
Lainey turned to him, throwing her hair over her shoulder as she looked him up and down. "Dr.Havel, correct?" she confirmed, raising an eyebrow. "I'm here to meet with you, too, so you don't have to dance around the words for something that is no doubt illegal and probably also morally wrong or some shit. Anyway, it's nice to officially meet you, I just didn't want to interrupt what is surely a fascinating conversation." She gave him her most charming smile. It seemed like the most psychopathic people were most charismatic, at least to Lainey herself. Though she supposed that might be giving her too much credit.
(Sorry for taking so long! My laptop was out of commission for a bit.)
Dr. Havel could certainly appreciate her upfront personality. Much better than having to dance around the topic for an answer. Upon learning she was here for the meeting, he gave her a proper greeting, "Yes, that would be me. Wonderful to finally meet. Did you happen to catch my questions?"
Taking in her appearance for more than a moment wouldn't have anyone think she'd be the type to be doing anything illegal. Impressive as always how unlawful people could hide in plain sight during day-to-day life. The only change he'd made to his usual civilian clothes was the choice of a nice coat and gloves. He wanted to give his best image for the first impression after all, as well as being much less suspicious compared to his plague mask.
"If not, I can fill you in. I want to sort out everything quickly so we can move on to other matters regarding getting settled in."
Lainey smirked, her mouth tilting up on the left side in an uneven smile. “I missed the first bit, but managed to catch the tail end of what you were saying,” she said charmingly, twirling a lock of hair around her finger. “I’m sorry to have to make you repeat yourself, but could you tell me the first part please?” She liked that she was able to appear normal without her costume and mask, so she could do business deals like this during the day. It certainly made her life easier.
