Echo fiddled with her sleeves, which were to long as usual. She walked along the busy sidewalk smiling at all the people who walked past her. Echo was headed to her apartment which was still a couple blocks away.
(They're in a small town btw. Also, i'm sorry, I was busy all day today and then our power went out.)
Hunter walked down the sidewalk, watching the branches of the nearby trees sway in the wind. He wondered the mph of the wind at the tops of the trees, and the weight of the uppermost branches. He was so immersed in his own mathematical world that he bumped into somebody.
(its fine i wont be on tomorrow until mayyybe night and not today after 3:30)
Echo stumbled back, confused, until she realized she had bumped into someone. She giggled when she saw the boy's face. "You look like a strawberry." She laughed, her hair hitting her face from the slight breeze.
Hunter sighed. "I've been told." He gritted at his teeth at the stupid nickname.
Echo laughed and covered her mouth with her hands. "I like strawberries. I have a lot." She mumbled quietly.
"Uh, that's nice." He shied away from her, looking uncomfortable.
She noticed him backing away and frowned. "I-I should probably g-go." Echo stammered, walking past the strawberry boy.
Hunter watched her leave and sighed with relief. He wasn't good with people anymore. He continued on his way to who knows where.
Echo looked around confused at her surroundings. She turned and started walking the other way. The buildings didn't look familiar. Her eyes filled with tears as she continued to walk. I hate this town. She thought, Why did they have to send me here?
Hunter sighed. He used to love this town, it still had its charm but ever since- No he didn't want to think about it. He shook the memory off.
Echo thought about her family, Stormy, Cherith, Cara. She held back a sob and stumbled over to a bench, putting her head in her knees. I just want to go home. She thought.
Hunter turned his head and saw the weird girl from before sobbing on a bench. It was so familiar. Without thinking, he walked over to comfort her.
Echo looked up and saw the strawberry boy walking towards her. She smiled slightly, wiping at her eyes.
"Are you okay?" He asked, crouching next to her.
"I got lost…" She mumbled, "And then..I miss my family.."
"Yeah, small towns can do that sometimes. Don't worry, we all have people we- we miss." He looked down. "It's normal…"
Echo reached out and touched his shoulder. "It's okay..It's okay." She mumbled.
He winced under her touch. "I- uh have a wound there."
She gasped and drew her hand away quickly. "Sorry, what happened?"
He bit the inside of his lip. "It's complicated…"
Echo shifted her eyes down to the grass instead of at the boy. "Oh, ok." She said.
(um connie??)
(SORRY! I got grounded)
