@Natasha
Brianna popped her head out of her closet. "I'm looking for a……..necklace….." Wow it sounded stupid out loud. "It's hard to explain."
Brianna popped her head out of her closet. "I'm looking for a……..necklace….." Wow it sounded stupid out loud. "It's hard to explain."
"Okay, so… what's this place you're talking about?" Bri had to be pulling his leg. There was no way his best friend was freaking out about losing a necklace.
"It's………….oh for…….just follow me we'll go now." She ran out of the closet with a backpack and she grabbed the book, disappearing out of the room without saying anything else.
"Do I need to bring anything?" He asked anxiously as he followed her.
"Nope. I got everything we need." Brianna said as she went into the backyard.
"O–okay." He bounded heavily after her. "Where're we going?" He did feel quite curious.
Brianna grabbed the gate to the fence that surrounded the forest in her backyard. "Into the woods. I gotta show you something."
"Alright…" Sandy murmured and jumped the gate with ease. He felt distinctly worried. This was just too odd of her. Was she gonna jump him (or as the kids these days would say)?
Brianna closed the gate and started running down the path. "I should have left the stupid necklace on. But did I? Noooo, I had to be the IDIOT who destroys the Enchanted Forest!"
Sandy glanced at his friend as he ran with her. What the heck was she talking about?
Brianna suddenly stopped. "Wait, can you see the gate?" She asked, whirling around. No gate. "Well, it's not like I should be surprised." Brianna opened the book. "Okay. So……..we just have to take a right here……"
Sandy shook his head, thinking that Bri had totally lost her marbles.
Brianna stopped and looked up at Sandy. "No, I'm not demented. Don't even try to defend yourself 'cause I know that's what you were going to say."
"I wasn't going to say it." He said in a defensive tone. "Why are we in the middle of a forest? What's going on?"
"If I explained, we would be here ALL. DAY. And I don't have that kind of time." Brianna started down a worn trail. "I'll give you an abbreviated version. So we are currently in a place called the Enchanted Forest. Wait, you've watched The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe before, right?"
"Of course I have. Who do you think I am, a football player?" He asked sarcastically.
Brianna muttered something under her breath. "Okay, so it's kind of like we're in Narnia." She said simply.
"But– right now?" He looked around. "Okay." He shook his head. "Why, if we are, in Narnia?"
"It's not NARNIA, per say, but it's called the Enchanted Forest, like I said before. We're here because my sister and I love it here and it's a family obligation…..something like that."
"Well, why did you bring me here? Why are we here in the first place? I thought best friends watched TV when they were bored, not go investigate some Enchanted Forest!" His voice was shrill and loud.
Brianna stopped abruptly. "Well I WASN'T really THINKING when I found out THAT MY STUPID MIDNIGHT ROSE WAS MISSING! Dude…………..oh glitter." Brianna took a deep breath, whipping around and grabbing Sandy's hand and yanking him into a cave with vines covering it, hiding the two as something ran past them. "Wonderful." Brianna hissed sarcastically.
"What? What the heck? What was that?"
Brianna clamped her hand over Sandy's mouth. "Shhh…….it's still there….."
(ok so are you playing it or should i?)
Sandy glanced at her with his eyes wide.
(I will)
(This is the creature btw)
Humans…….he could smell humans. The prince will be pleased with this information……. The magma beast bounded away and Brianna let out a deep breath.
