“Look, Nothing has to happen.” He picked his head up to look at her.

"Then why did you do it?" The question slipped out ofher mouth before she could even think.

“Habit… love. I don’t know why didn’t you stop me?”

Paige felt her face flush. "I don't know," she replied softly.

He rolled and laid next to her on the bed as he let out a deflating sigh.

"Because I was curious."

“Curious? About what?”

"What you'd do," she said, blushing fervently.

Darren laughed. “I would respect whatever you wanted to do,”

"Y-You would?" She couldn't hide her surprised.

“Yeah of course. I’d never force you to do anything you didn’t want to,”

Paige didn't even register at first that she was crying.

“Are you crying?” He put his head on her shoulder and moved closer, “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to upset you,”

"I'm not upset," she whispered happily. She kissed him softly. "I'm…" Her feelings couldn't be put into words. She kissed him again, laughing.

“Now your laughing… that’s a lot of emotions,” he chuckled.

She giggled. "What can I say? Love is confusing."

“Aw no! Are you falling for me?!” He readjusted hisbhead in the crook of her neck.

Paige felt her heart jump. "I guess I am," she said softly, genuinely.

“A few days ago, you hated me,” he chuckled.

"Hated? That's a strong word," she replied.

“Sure but let’s be real here… I certainly was not on your list of favorite people in fact I was near top on those you don’t favor,”

"Who says?" she murmured. She couldn't stop thinking of the moment they'd had in the kitchen. He'd clearly tugged on her shirt… Had he wanted her to take it off? She pushed the thought away for the time being.

"Me, logic, everyone… I'm the football guy that people assume is too cool to know how to be nice or something…"

"Okay, maybe…" she admitted.

“See! Now you claim to be falling for a guy you hate…” he smiled victoriously.
