John smiles slightly as nym resumes her pattern tracing then tilts his head and places a quick kiss on her lips "Higher indeed and do you really mean that? That is quite a huge promise and commitment nym…."

Nym blushes "Um, I mean if you don't and this is just a fling I can go." Nym starts to sit up and prepare her wings

John jolts his heart stuttered in a light panic and he wraps his arms around nym pulling her back "No! This is most definitely not a fling…I love you…And truth be told that as soon as I would have gotten back from my home world I intend to ask your hand in marriage. I sure as hell do not think this is a fling at all and quite frankly that hurts my feelings that you would think I did" John grits his teeth and closes his eyes slowly dropping his arms from around her and whispered "Did you really think that?"

Nym stifled a giggle "Hun, I'm so sorry. I know that was a really mean joke, but I wasn't serious." Nym lays back down and gently places a hand on his cheek cautious of his reaction to her horrible joke "I love you John, you seem to forget I can interpret your emotions better than you can. I can feel that this isn't a fling Hun. She kisses his forehead still cautious And um, are you completely serious about m-marriage?" Nym drops her hand and looks down as she turns red

John takes a moment to collect his breath then he nods slowly "Yes I am absolutely sure about every decision I make. And next time when playing joke…one not so serious would be much appreciated. I really would hate to lose you nym" John sighs then places a kiss on her forehead feeling slightly ashamed at his reaction

Nym looks down expressionless "I'm sorry John, I really am sorry. That was cruel of me."

"It is fine nym you don't have to apologize so much love" John reaches his hands up and cups her face wanting her to look at him

Nym remains silent and does not look up "Something's wrong."

John drops his hands trying hard not to feel hurt "Somethings wrong? What do you mean?"

Nym's eyes shift back and forth quickly "Nothing urgent… wait a minute… John, I think you uh, you might have to meet some new people when you get back." Nym looks up at him slowly "I'm sorry for diverting the topic, but please John, I don't mean to make you feel hurt. My constant apologising is a learned behavior. Past relationships and friendships critiqued me constantly, I was never good enough. So, I learned to put my head down and apologise to appease them."

"New people eh? That one was not surprising, I just hope to see old faces when I get home.It's fine, and I swear if I ever get my damn hands on those people I will make them see the wrongs they have done. You are good enough for me nym and that counts for something. You don't need to put your head down and appease people like a slave." John winces then runs a hand through his hair wishing he could help nym with that

"John, you're not allowed to hurt the people in my Coven if you want my hand." Nym looks out at the waves and slowly back at him "Thank you, it means a lot to know that someone besides my siblings care."

"Not to physically hurt…maybe thrash them a little. I wouldn't dare do more then that or probably less then that if I really had the chance. And your welcome love, but do you want to turn the boat around now….I kinda let us go farther then I intended" John tilts his head and squints then looks around for a moment before returning his gaze back to nym

"Alright by me, I'm gonna um, put my clothes back on." Nym blushes bright red as she turns slightly away from John and reaches for her clothes

John nods and gets up putting his clothes back on as well, when done he walks to the steer clicking the auto button off then slowly turns the wheel as he hums softly lost in thought as he does so

Nym gets dressed and slowly walks to John wrapping her arms around his waist "Where's that tune from? It sounds really familiar."

John smiles and murmurs softly "The tune ..oh it's called Radio Romance…Megan likes to listen to it alot and I got it stuck in my head haha" As john spoke he takes one hand off the steer and places it over nyms hands on his stomach

"Hmmm, that doesn't sound as familiar." Nym sighed "A girl could get used to this."

John chuckled and smiles at nyms statement "It was an album I randomly found, soooo that live on the sea idea getting more appealing?"

Nym giggles "As long as I'm with you." Nym moves to his side and under his arm

John looks over at nym and smiles "This might be off topic, but do I make you feel safe?" John then looks up and observed the waves as he maneuvered the steer

Nym stares out toward the horizon "Yes, it is off topic. John, of course I feel safe with you. I completely forget my sensory abilities when I'm with you. Occasionally my skin may glow from the intense intimacy between us, but I don't feel the overwhelming emotion like I do with anyone else."

John taps a small rhythm with his hand on the steer "I am glad that I met you at that little cafe' , you looked so cute reading that book of yours. I may have said this many times over, but I really love you" After an hour of steering the boat and talking to nym he pulled into the pier and docked the boat

"Cute?" Nym scoffs "I was awkward and being an insecure and introverted nerd!" Nym watches John as he docks the boat "You haven't seen me on my laziest day, and I am glad."

(Sorry, I was busy revising an essay)

John laughs at nyms scoff and shakes his head "Haven't seen you being lazy? So me and you lazing around in bed or on the couch is not lazy? But back to the cafe', you have certainly never seen your face when reading. It was the way you tilted your head and was biting your lip that captured my fancy"
