"What do you think you're doing?" His father growled down at Leon. Torin grabbed the back of Leon's shirt and yanked him back. "This is my problem, not yours, just go." He said desperately.
"What do you think you're doing?" His father growled down at Leon. Torin grabbed the back of Leon's shirt and yanked him back. "This is my problem, not yours, just go." He said desperately.
"No, I'm not leaving you with someone like him," He said, still glaring at his father
His father grabbed Torin by the shirt and dragged him along back towards the street. "I'll deal with you at home. As for your friend, there'll be no more seeing him. You'll come home from school immediately, and stay until the next morning. No going out." Torin looked back longingly at Leon until they rounded the corner.
"He doesn't have to listen to you, he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants to." He said, trying to make him let go of Torin.
"I make the rules, not you." He growled, turning and grabbing Leon and pulling his face up to his. "You don't come near my son." He let go of Leon and shoved him to the ground. "Or you will be sorry."
"If you go around saying he's your son, at least treat him like your son, not someone you take out your anger on." He stumbled back a bit, he was internally scared and wanted to leave but he kept up the act.
"Excuse me?!" He roared, taking a step towards Leon. Behind him, Torin stood, staring at him. "Stop Leon. I mean it."
"I know that you hit him, it's probably because you lost your wife, and all of that comes out when you're drunk and, unfortunately, Torin is with you when you're drunk and he just lets you hit him. Do you understand what you are doing to your own son?!" He roared, taking a step towards him and glaring at him.
His father towered over Leon, shaking with anger. "WHo are yOu to talk about MY Wife?! You don't know what happened! You don't know it was the boy who let her die!" Torin stood behind him, his face wet with tears. His father turned and grabbed Torin's arm fiercely and walked fast back towards their house.
"I'll admit it, I don't know what happened, but the one thing I know is that you can take away his human rights!" Leon followed him and tried to pull Torin away from his father.
His father maintained a firm grip on Torin. "Just stop! I deserve it okay?! You can't help!" Torin screamed back at Leon.
"Give me one good reason why you deserve this." He said, still trying to pull Torin away from his father.
"Because I let her die Leon.." He said quietly.
"What do you mean?" He asked, watching his father carefully.
Torin's father pulled him ahead and made him face forward, glaring back at Leon.
Leon glared back and decided to leave, he quietly walked back to his house. Damn it, I probably messed it all up for him. He thought as he flopped down on his couch.
Torin's father shoved him towards the stairs when they got home, he didn't say anything and went to his room, slamming the door behind him. Torin went to his own room and shut the door. He grabbed his phone and sat down on his bed.
When I was eleven, my mom got sick. She needed medication and I was responsible for giving it to her. My father was never home those days and most days I came home late, tired, and forgot to give her the medicine. She was in the hospital a week later, getting worse and worse. She died shortly after that. She was never good to me either and when she died she told me that maybe if I hadn't forgotten those pills, she might be better.
Leon quickly took out his phone and sat down on his bed.
Oh….
He wasn't sure what to say since he always terrible in these types of situations.
Torin ignored Leon. He curled up on his bed facing the wall, tears rolling silently down his cheeks.
I'm sorry.
Torin continued to ignore him and rolled over onto his back. Why would you ever think this would work out? He asked himself angrily.
Leon sighed and he flopped down on his bed.
(time skip to morning?)
(sure)
Torin woke up early the next morning, got dressed and grabbed his bag. His father wouldn't be up yet so he left quietly and made his way to school.
