"What? What's wait, what did you do?" He was a little confused. More than a little.
"What? What's wait, what did you do?" He was a little confused. More than a little.
"The second part of my powers. I can control the elements." She shrugged like it was no big deal.
"Whoa." He thought for a moment. The elements… "That's. Whoa."
"Yeah. Watch this." She twirled her finger at a small pile of leaves on the ground. The wind kicked up around it and it spun into a tornado before settling back down.
"That's amazing." He didn't think he'd ever seen anyone with that power before.
"Meh. It's kind of basic but whatever."
"I disagree." He continued to look around. "How will you know when they find her?"
"They'll bring her back. Just like I told them to. Don't worry, they won't hurt her. The bushes are very careful."
"Okay. Where do we go then? I can't just sit around and wait."
"You can go back home and rest. I can stay here and wait. There's nothing else we can really do but just wait."
"I- I can't. It's my sister! I'll wait with you."
The bushes rustled. "What? You found her?" They rustled again. "Oh thank God. Is she hurt?" More ruslting. "Oh no. How badly?" Rustle rustle. "Well that can be easily managed. At least it's not too bad. Please, bring her back."
"What? What happened? Is she hurt? They found her?"
"Calm down. She's been found and while she has a couple scraches from running through the bushes, they're shallow and can be easily taken care of." She smiled a little.
A flood of relief washed over him. "Thank goodness." He was so happy to know she was safe.
(Merry Christmas Eve by the way!)

And as if by magic, riding on top of the bushes, Amelia was gently set on her feet in front of them.
"Amelia!" He was about to set his own feet back down, but he quickly realized he couldn't. Not without completely passing out.
"See? I told you the bushes would be careful with her. I know the forest well." She smiled proudly.
"I didn't doubt it." He gently set her down. "I don't know if I can't carry both of you, but I can't touch the ground."
"You don't have to. I can walk." Ivy shrugged. "You two have some talking to do so I'll leave you to it." She wandered off back to her house.
(Sorry, been really busy lately)
He nodded and watched as she walked off. "Amelia…" He turned to her. "Listen, I-"
"I'm sorry!" She began to cry a little. "I'm sorry I yelled and I'm sorry that I ran!"
She walked back up to her room and sealed off the passageway. "Poor kid, doesn't know what she's dealing with."
"Hey, hey, hey!" He flew closer to her and lifted her up gently. He let her sob into his chest as he slowly drifted up towards the stars. The wind blew around them as if nothing else existed. As if nothing mattered but the stars.
She sat on her bed and flicked on the light, pulling out a small sketchbook and a pencil. She decided to draw the exact same thing she always drew when this happened. She drew the room around her. The sound of her pencil against the paper was the only one in the silent room.
