"Are you talking about, like, fallen angels? As in demons?"
"Are you talking about, like, fallen angels? As in demons?"
"No, demons aren't even related to angels. I've met demons before, they're not so bad if you aren't a normal human. They like to stay out if my way."
"Well, then what? I'm not sure I'm following…"
"Angels are nothing like Pit is what I'm saying. I highly doubt he really is one."
"What do you think he is?" Lucas glanced at the door that Pit was behind. "To my understanding, he's an angel who sustained some injury or something that rendered him incapable of flight."
"I believe he is a humanoid creature of some degree." Susan said.
"…Aren't angels humanoid creatures? What makes you think he's not an angel, anyways?"
"Trust me, angels are nothing like him." she laughed mirthlessly.
"I'm still confused… if Pit isn't like angels, then what are angels like?"
"Annoying, clingy, pompous, they think they're such do-gooders." she said.
"Hmm… yeah, for the most part, Pit seems a bit rule crazy. I mean, he'll blindly follow any order an authority gives him. And I'd say he's not particularly pompous, if a bit reckless in the heat of battle."
"He might be an angel, I'm just skeptical."
"He said that he works for some goddess, so maybe he was trained to do that? Like, to follow orders blindly? He must really trust this goddess, and he's used to listening to his authority. He also seems to be particularly eager to fight for other people, whether it puts himself in danger or not… do you think he's a soldier of some sort?"
"Angels don't work for anyone, at least where I'm from."
"Really? I thought they were usually sort of messengers of the gods, or something of that sort… When you think of God, you typically think of angels, don't you?"
"Not always, ha. But angels aren't all that bad, just….. well they are all that bad but never mind."
"How many angels have you met? Are there different… species? Like, the kind you know, and Pit?"
"Probably. I mean, there are different species of everything."
"Fair enough… I wonder if Pit was maybe just a human, and then his Lady Palutena chose to make him an angel, or something?"
"Probably not. Angels are born, not made last I checked."
Lucas shrugged. "Well, Pit never said whether he was either way, so we'd never know unless we asked."
"He might not want us to ask."
“I know, that’s the problem. I wouldn’t want to make him uncomfortable.”
"If it ever comes up in a conversation, ask away, but I think that it would be better to not intrude on his privacy." Susan said.
Lucas nodded. "And if it happened when he was young, he may not remember anyways."
