She looked up. "Oh, no, it's fine, really, I live two blocks away, I'll be fine." She stuttered, not wanting to be a bother.

“Are you sure?” Thatcher pressed on. “I may have just moved here, but I don’t think it’s safe to be wandering around this area at night.” Nike gave a soft growl behind him, getting up from where she had been laying. At her full height, her heads reached up to Thatchers mid-torso. That was very tall, considering how tall Thatcher was.
She nodded, knowing the way well. "I'm sure, promise." She insisted.
“Mm, if you say so,” Thatcher hummed, nodding slowly. “How about I get your number? We can possibly grab coffee, if that sounds okay,” he offered. He would make sure that Adeline got to her home safe. He couldn’t follow her, that would be creepy. Thankfully, he had Nike to watch.
She smiled, pulling a slip of paper out of her pocket. "Do you happen to have a pen?"
“I should,” Thatcher said, digging through one of his pockets. He took out what looked like an expensive fountain pen. It was his reaping pen. It went along with the pad of paper he had. It was used to cross out the names that were listed on the pad, marking the humans as officially dead. He handed it to Adeline though, Nike growling in disbelief.
She smiled, writing down her number quickly and handing both to him. "Thank you."
Thatcher hummed in response, tucking the pen and slip of paper back into his pocket. “You’re welcome. I’ll call you and we can figure out a day and time,” he said with a warm smile.
She nodded. "Could you text instead? I never pick up unknown numbers." She asked sheepishly
“If that makes you more comfortable, then of course,” Thatcher answered with a nod. He wasn’t the best with modern cellphones. As he had watched technology progress, it seemed to grow more and more complicated.
She nodded gratefully. "I better get going." She said.
“Right, of course. I’ll text you later,” Thatcher said, nodding his head. His eyes glanced to Nike for a moment, and he discreetly flicked one of his fingers at Adeline. “Have a nice night,” he said before setting off down a path.
