"Yep," she answered, not looking at him. "Come on."

"Wait," she muttered, pulling him towards the front door. "Bye Sam!" she called over her shoulder.

"Bye!" he yelled back from another room deeper in the house.

She shut the door behind them and hurried down the walk.

" paise! What is going on?!"

"Sam doesn't like you," she muttered.

" so?"

"So, he really doesn't like you," Paisley said. "I've never seen him that upset before. Did you know him?"

" no, actually I don't."

Paisley shook her head. "Well, he doesn't want me to keep seeing you."

Kenji thought for a moment. " So it's pick who."

Paisley finally stopped walking and looked over at him. "What?"

" he wants you to pick. Him or me. That's his problem. You picked me in a heart beat didn't you.."

"Obviously," she whispered, squeezing his hand.

" then that's why he's angry."

"I know," Paisley sighed. "It's just difficult… but you're feeling better, right?"

" a lot."he said softly

"Good," she murmured. "That's what matters. Let's get home."
