hey guys, unfortunately I don't think this is going to get started anytime soon as I'm just waaaay too busy and I took too much more then I could actually do. If you still want to roleplay this topic, feel free to take it into your own hands, otherwise, it will just end here. Really sorry about that.

If y'all would like, I can post a starter? I feel like we should make a new thread though, to avoid clutter—or maybe that's just my OCD kicking in lol.

I'm also open to playing the villain or the friend who knows, if either @Tired-but-passionate or @StarkSpangledMayflower would prefer to stick to one character. (I literally don't mind at all, I'm just offering because I know some people aren't a fan of playing more than one at a time!)

That said, my current idea for a starter (since I mentioned Mingzhi having cut himself off from the others, which plays true to his character), is that he, himself, did not witness the friend-turned-villain run from the fire. Instead, he'd be going about his normal day and receive a message from one of the others who did witness it saying something simple like, 'We need to talk,' and his reaction to that information.

We could also make it a group chat message if any of the others wouldn't have been in contact, or if they also didn't personally witness the friend! Should be a simple matter from there to do, say, a short time skip to the point of everyone meeting in one place (in this case, perhaps Mingzhi's residence).

We would need to establish who was actually there at the fire, though, first. Was it everyone except Mingzhi?

Part of me does want to be the villain bc I’m worried that Ella’s power is kinda weak? Idk I just feel like since she can only heal that she is less involved with everyone else bc she can’t deal with danger head-on, she can only really work from the sidelines. And maybe having a more powerful character in addition would make things more balanced?
Also Ella definitely would’ve wanted to stay in contact bc the others would have helped her in some way after her stepmother kicked her out so she feels close to them. Also yes she was there at the fire, tho I think she would’ve been busy healing people and missed the villain friend running from the scene

I think Mavis would have stayed in contact but she might be the person who reads and doesn't really respond. She would probably hang out with the group on occasion. I think she wouldn't be at the site of the fire but rather at a library or her studio, working.

Okay I’m gonna say this so I don’t forget, I have a couple of options for the villain friend: 1) in keeping with my characters so far being inspired by well known stories, I have my interpretation of Peter Pan who is aged up, he can fly and has some inhuman qualities. 2) A character who is… basically a vampire? At least, I’m probably going to make them something like that for this rp. 3) a child. Okay listen- maybe it would be interesting if the villain friend hadn’t aged in the time since the group defeated the big threat. For some reason villainous child is really compelling to me haha

I personally like the child villain. It'll cause confusion in the group about whether or not what they saw was true and I personally think it'll be fun to write about. If I remember correctly, we may have rped together using your Peter Pan character in the past so I feel like I may remember him, possibly

Personality: Although he has been alive for longer than he appears, at his core Dusk is still a 12 year old boy. He’s curious and mischievous, rather smart. He’s also rather quiet and withdrawn, seeming very jaded for his age. He’s observant and analytical, coming to fairly accurate conclusions about things but often struggling with finding the vocabulary to express his ideas. He also struggles with regulating his emotions, being prone to irritation and anger, as well as impulsiveness. He tends to find that he can more easily express himself through writing.
Backstory: Dusk doesn’t remember much of his past, and the stuff he does is mostly a collage of memories and sensations. He remembers walking the streets of a forsaken city, keeping his twin sister Dawn close to him as they ignored the dirty looks thrown at them. The fuzzy faces of the foster couple who took them in, but gave them away after only two months. The trembling in his muscles as he and Dawn were separated, for reasons he is still unsure of. Running away on a cool autumn night. Feeling truly alone as he hid in the park. He spent several long nights in that park, staying away from anyone who came during the day. He ventured out occasionally to steal food. The earliest clear memories he has is meeting a group of kids who seemed as strange as he was when they came to his park one day. Being apart of this friend group was probably the happiest he had been in his life. It was also when he started practicing his abilities. When he decided to save the world with his friends, it was not because he cared about the world. He only cared about the people who gave him a sense of purpose. And when he decided to sacrifice himself, it was not because he wanted to be a hero. It was because he knew the world would like it better if he was gone.
But he didn’t go away.
Someone wanted him to stay.
At last, the deer that they had hunting for all this time was now in their clutches, ready to be preserved and mounted on the wall.
Abilties: Dusk can transform into a deer and gains all the abilities of one with it. When he’s in deer form, he can essentially terraform by sending shockwaves through the ground with his hooves. These shockwaves create cracks and fissures in the ground, and vegetation will quickly grow through them. This takes a lot of energy for his physically young body, and it will cause him to revert to human form.
Looks: 4’8 with a slim figure, pale pinkish skin and a mop of thick white hair. Big eyes that look red in certain lighting, otherwise are just a pale grey. Small button nose, thin pouty lips, and elvish ears. Usually wears a pair of dark, loose linen overalls with frayed edges, rips, and stains here and there.

Personality: He seems to have a cold personality, but will make light jokes with people he is close to, to others he is quiet and introverted, but with his small group of people, he is bubbly and fun.
Backstory: Jess is an orphan, his cold demeanor often scared off any possibly families. So he grew up alone, and often got bullied for being at the orphanage his whole life, and no family choosing him, not that he wanted family. He ran away around age 9, and met the rest of the group. Now he works as an ice sculptor, and likes to leave sculptures around the city, despite them not lasting more than a day or so, as they are made of ice. Jess met the group of friends when he was living in an alley, he would make himself an igloo of sorts to sleep in, and wander the streets during the day. Once he got old enough to get a job, he struggled to find one, after all, he didnt think putting 'saved the world at 9' on a resume would go over well. He passed by a truck for an ice sculpting buisness one day, and immediately asked them about getting a job. Jt was Ice after all, he knew Ice. He started working for them, but would usually wait until last minute to make an order, he didnt have to go about sculpting it. He could just use his abilitu to make it.
Abilities: Ice manipulation. Can freeze and shape liquid, including moisture in the air, can make weapons such as blades out of the ice. Can make ice shatter. His power becomes weaker if the area is to hot, and if the air is to dry, it makes it harder to form ice. So he keeps a canister of water on him at all times.
Looks: Dark hair that is just long enough to fall into his eyes. Icy blue eyes, with generally sharp features, slim yet fit build, 5'5. He wears a white graphic T- shirt with a sleeveless jacket over top, and black cargo pants with combat boots and some bracelets. (kinda emo)
