The cold winter air bites at people's noses. Adelaide checks her watch for the fourteenth time, running late for work.
Arian steps out of the taxi, taking a sharp breath as the cold air stings his skin. It was his first day at his new job at the New York Times. He was a photographic reporter, the best in the business. Even though he knew that, the butterflies whirled in his stomach.
(This ok?)
Starting to pick up pace, Adelaide doesn't notice the man in front of her. She stumbles over his foot, landing on the icy sidewalk with a thud.
Nattie watched as a young woman tumbles to the ground pulling a young man over with her. She rushes over to help them up.
The frosty air bit at Kelly's nose. Her limo wasn't far off, fortunately. Being a famous British actress filming in NYC sucked some days, but it paid off. People were so nice to you, and you got free coffee to boot.
Arian had been standing with his hands in his pockets, working up the courage to head inside before he was late, when a girl suddenly runs right over his feet, tripping onto the sidewalk. "Oh my goodness, are you ok?"
He looked at the girl in worry, kneeling down to help her up.
"I'm so sorry." Adelaide mumbles to the man, realizing she drew a crowd with her fall.
She saw a woman fall down and ran over to help. "Are you okay?" Kelly asked, her accent particularly strong since she was worried.
"Yeah, sure." Adelaide rushes towards the doors of the building.
Nattie gasped when she saw her favourite actress, Kelly, standing there.
"Hey, Kelly Storm. Is everything okay over here?" she asked.
(Hello? Anyone here by any chance?)
Nattie squealed in excitement "Kelly, I'm a huge fan!" she said jumping up and down.
"It's nice to meet a fan. What's your name?" she asked the squealing young woman.
Nattie cleared her throat.
"I'm… I'm Natalie Laroche…" Nattie stuttered.
"Well hello Natalie. Here's my number, call me sometime?" She asked, handing the girl a slip of paper with her private phone number on it.
Nattie carefully grabbed the paper - her eyes wide - "Oh… Oh… Okay…" she smiled softly.
Inside the New York Times building, Adelaide sits in her desk, praying her boss hadn't noticed her absence.
"Hey, nice meeting you, Natalie." Kelly said. She walked off.
Nattie walked into the New York Times building. She had just been hired to be the receptionist and she cursed herself for being so late. She opened the door and ran inside and sat down at her desk just as her boss walked in.
Kelly walked into the New York Times building. She was getting an exclusive interview there and she couldn't be late.
"Good morning, ma'am. Do you have an appointment with Mr. Roberts?" said Nattie politely as Kelly walked in. She was at her job and she couldn't mess around now.
"Is that the person interviewing me?" Kelly asked.
Adelaide, deep in thought and Led Zeppelin, notices someone pointing at her. She takes out her earbuds and stands.
