As Daisy chased the other players across the court her excitement grew. When she got the ball she ran as fast as her legs could carry her. One of the times however a player from the opposing team shoved her. She fell on her face and pain shot through her ankle. Twisted. Even though it was clearly a foul, nothing was called and the coach took her to the bench. "Sorry coach I didn't mean to get hurt." She apologized, rubbing her ankle in pain. "You have nothing to apologize for. RAVEN DO IT AGAIN!" He said hurriedly.
Raven looked at the coach when he yelled her name and nodded. After she got the ball she did the same thing as before and didn't hang onto the hoop this time.
“Yeah… yeah, totally,” Fae nodded, blushing.
Daisy sighed heavily. She had been looking forward to this game for so long only for her ankle to be sprained. Instead of staying down in the dumps, she cheered her team on and smiled at their success.
Raven looked at Daisy after she scored, and smiled reassuringly at her.
A slow smile then a nod from Daisy to Raven and she remembered what it meant to be a team. "WOOOO!" She cried out, excitedly.
Fae got bored and continued reading.
The game started and the University was winning by a lot of points. Just then some people started playing poorly, and Raven yelled at them,"Pretend like we're losing but we're closing to winning!"
Daisy looked out into the crowd. She caught sight of a girl. She was reading a book. Why? Did she know that girl? Daisy shrugged mentally and decided to look into it later.
Then the team started playing better than before, and she smiled to herself.
Daisy smiled as the team improved greatly through Raven's advice.
Reese watched one of the University girls get clearly shoved and she bit her tongue to keep from yelling "FOUL!" The girl sat on the bench and Reese could see her face better. It was Daisy. She was still yelling for the team, even though she was injured. She's a good player, Reese thought. The team picked up the pace.
Daisy's mood was exceptionally high considering her ankle was twisted. She had good friends and tons of support and to her that was all she needed.
(Should we skip to the end of the game?)
(Yeah)
Reese watched the last couple seconds tick down on the clock. Come on… come on…
The buzzer-beater beeped loudly to signal the end of the game. They had won! Daisy got up shakily and wobbled over to her teammates, giving high fives to everybody. "Nice job guys!"
She smiled at Daisy, "I can't believe we did it."
Fae looked up at the sound of a buzzer and then continued reading.
Adena nudged Fae. “Game’s over.”
“Ah,” Fae looked up. “Right.” She stood and closed her book.
