As she walked up the steps to her home, a door opened and a head popped out. Her pretty neighbor was staring at her.
"What are you doing out so late? Didn't you come home earlier?" She asked. (They talk when Valerie comes home)

Valerie's eyes widened. "I…" She said, trying to think of an excuse, "I needed a breath of fresh air."

Alice's eyes flicker down briefly to the struggling dragon pup and huffed. "If you say so."

Valerie nodded. "Why? Did I wake you up or something?"

"Well… no, something else did. My dog, you know." She rolled her green eyes and flicked her long brown hair out of her eyes. "Have a good night."

"You too," Valerie responded, opening her door. Her pale blue eyes swept over the room, and she picked up her sweater from the floor and set it down on the couch. She set the dragon down softly on the sweater. She hadn't realized she forgot to close the door.

When she looked over to close it she saw her neighbor's door close with a snap. It was impossible to tell what she saw.
