"Jumping in the way sure didn't help anything," Jesse snapped.
He helped Hydra sit down and held her arm up a little to decrease circulation to the wound.
"Hold it right there," he told her as he rummaged through his bag for bandages.
"Since when do you find yourself high enough to give me orders," she said in a deathly calm voice. Despite not liking it, she followed what he said and held her arm still. The shock started to go away and the pain set in. She gave a hiss, refusing to cry over a 'small' wound like that.
"It's okay, it's okay!" Jesse cried out, not sure whether it was more reassurance for Hydra or himself. He finally felt bandages under his grip and pulled them from the bag. He made sure to bind the wound tightly, but not too much so.
"Look, this is mostly my fault, so I'm going to at least make sure you come out of this situation alright," Jesse promised.
She looked up at the guy as he bandaged her wound. She wasn't sure how to respond to the situation…. Kindness was such a rare thing to be shown to her.. "Sure.." She started, looking away. She then said, in a softer and nicer tone, "I mean, thank you. I'm Hydra, who are you?" She cocked her head so her hair fell off of her face.
"Jesse," he replied tersely. Jesse felt his heart rate suddenly increase even more as the reality of everything that had just happened set in. He had just watched all of his friends get killed before coming here. Or had he? Jesse looked down at his shoes, which were spattered with blood, but it was the distinct crimson of human blood, so he was certain it wasn't from a monster.
Before she knew what she was doing she reached out and put her good hand on his shoulder, trying to comfort him. She had seen that look, had that look on her own face, much to often for her liking. What a curse it was, to have to witness the ones you love and trust die around you…
"What are you…? Oh…" Jesse sighed at Hydra's attempt to comfort him, but he became increasingly agitated. He had let his emotions show more than he'd have liked. He continued to apply pressure to her wound, trying to pretend like he was okay. His breathing was heavy. He was too conscious of his tell-tale behavior that betrayed the fear he felt.
"I've lost people too, well, who hasn't. Let me just say, from expereance, it never gets easier…" She removed her hand. Looking at her wound, her voice regained the sharp edge as she said, "The bleeding is slowing down, lets get moving, before more track us here." She started to get up.
"Okay," Jesse murmured, ignoring her reassurance. He was trying to ignore the pressure he was under. He helped Hydra stand and asked, "Where should we go? This place is crawling with monsters."
She walked over to the dead monster and yanked her sword from its head. Wiping off the blood, she then shethed it. "Your guess is as good as mine," she lowly mumbled.
"Alright, then we'll just start going, and see where we end up. As long as we don't go back in the direction from which I came." Jesse gritted his teeth, stung by the memories of what happened back there.
"Then what are you waiting for?" She started walking on. She wiped the monster blood off her face from earlier.
"You're right," he murmured, following Hydra. Jesse kept going, a certain paranoia creeping in around him. Monsters could be anywhere, waiting to attack them.
(Yo where can I step in?)
//I’m thinking the same thing lol
(Maybe have some more monsters sneak attack Hydra and Jesse, and your characters step in just in time?)
//tried that lol. Top of the page. No acknowledgement XD
(Whoops. Okay. I'll do something real quick for your character to jump in. Idk about @ThatBackgroudSlytherin though)
(I could be with Turtle's character)
Jesse kept walking, then a thought entered his mind. Hadn't there been someone else there? They killed one of the monsters? He stopped for a moment and cast a glance back to see Rose standing there.
Rose waved at the boy who’d turned around. “More monsters,” she said, jerking a thumb behind her. “Don’t worry about it.” In one fluid motion, Rose stabbed a monster through the heart and beheaded another. Soon, the last three monsters were piles of ash, and Rose was calmly sheathing her sword.
June ran after her. "Don't leave me back there like that! i stood in that square for a whole 10 minutes wondering where you were!"
(is this okay?)
(No problem. Now… just to get @ThatBackgroundSlytherin in)
Jesse's eyes widened. "We have to get out of here. Now." He had no clue that there had been more monsters, and he and Hydra likely would have died in an ambush.
