As Bela was in the garden she remembered something she needed to get in town. She looked to her familiars, "Stay here. I forgot something in town."

She left her hut and walked back into town.

Oliver gave a confused look like he had no goddamn idea what the woman was talking about. “Oh, uh, it’s just groceries, nothing interesting,” he responded, shifting his weight on his heels. He threw a look over his shoulder to look at Lucy, who was still distracted with the blind girl.

Calla slumped onto the ground, defeated. She'd made up the description of her parental unit. The truth was, she wanted to be lost. She wanted to never see her parental unit ever again. And maybe one of these nice people would take her home, where they would care about her.
"I think they left."

@TreeQueen

"Mmhm," Zyna shook her head at the retreating man. Way to suspicious. Making up her mind, Zyna followed him, blending seamlessly into the crowd.

Lucy glanced up at Oliver, who already seemed to have made his way back at the cabin. So impatient. “Do you know where your home is?” She asked in a gentle tone.

Oliver made his way towards the woods, nudging through the crowd. The smell of burnt flesh seeped into his nose, and he grimaced softly. It was not a very pleasent thing to smell. He stepped onto a path that led into the woods, walking along it as he ducked under branches and stepped over tree roots.

Belladonna spotted a man dragging a bag out of town. She decided to investigate, by doing the smart thing and stalking him.

@Lenered

"No. You should take me with you. You wouldn't leave me here, right? It's better if I go to your home. Then, we can talk more and there's a better chance of finding my parental unit." Calla smiled brightly. I hope we never find them.

“Oh, um, sure! My cabin isn’t too far from here, and I have an extra bedroom you could stay in,” Lucy said, rubbing at the nape of her neck. Oliver would probably disapprove of her bringing the girl home, but he wasn’t there to stop her.

Oliver soon stepped off the path, pushing through the thick trees and bushed. Branches and leaves crunched under his boots as he walked in the direction of the cabin, humming as he did so.

Lucy smiled softly and took Calla’s hand gently. She stood up, looking down at her. “Do you want me to carry you? It’s a bit of a rough walk,” she said, thinking of the trail through the woods.

@Desvelarse pets

“Sounds great,” Lucy said, her tone sweet. She lifted Calla into her arms, carrying her as she nudged her way gently through the crowds of people.

@Desvelarse pets

“Oh, well you could feel my face if you’d like,” Lucy suggested as she carried Calla. “I wear glasses, I have short red-ish hair, lighter toned skin, and hazel eyes.”a

@Lenered

She touched the woman's nose, reaching up. "Red. Hazel. Light." what color was light? What color was hazel? She knew red. They'd told her about it.
Red was the color of flames, of fury. Of passion. Red was the color of love, burning bright and it was the color of anger, red-hot anger, filling up the room in shouts.
Red was the color of blood. The seeping, salty liquid that pushed out of your skin when you were hurt. Red was the color of the truth and the color of lies. It was the color of a curse and a blessing.
Red, was a color she couldn't begin to comprehend, as if it had a life of its own.

Lucy smiled as she reached the forest path, sticks crunching under her shoes as she walked. “Have you always been blind?” She hesitantly asked. She was unsure of that was an okay question to ask.

@Lenered

"Yes." the woman's arms were warm and Calla smiled, feeling happier already. "I was born after a bombing. My mama, she had been affected. I was born, she died, my papa was already dead. I was an orphan."

@Desvelarse pets

“Oh. Oh my, I’m so sorry about that,” Lucy said in a gentle tone, his expression saddening. It was good that she was opening up, but that was terrible for a child to have to go through.

@Lenered

Calla pulled on the woman's nose. "Don't be. It is nothing to say sorry about. They are dead. I do not remember them. Therefore, I cannot love them. My feelings. . .they are mostly regret. Regret that I couldn't have the love most families have between them. But it is okay. You need not apologize." her smile dimmed.

@ShadeStar

Belladonna followed the man to a small cabin a bit nicer than her own. She continued watching from the tree line, a bit too scared to reveal herself.

@Desvelarse pets

She is very logical for a child, Lucy though as she gave a small hum. “Okay, sweetheart. But there’s nothing to worry about now. I’ll get you back to my home and get you some food, a chance to wash up, and clean clothes. How does that sound?”

@Lenered

"It sounds very nice. Thank you for your hospitality." Calla poked the woman's shoulder, wanting to be let down. "Tell me the color of your house."

@Desvelarse pets

Oliver walked around back, fingers tracing over what seemed to be a sigil painted on the bark. He set down the bag, stepping over to the back wall of the house where a shovel was located. Still humming, he walked back over to the bag with the shovel, dropping it in the dirt.

Lucy smiled a bit more and arrived at the cabin. She slowly set down Calla in front of the door and dug her keys from her pocket to unlock the front. “Oh, it’s just brown. Made of wood.”
