”Throw me under the bus, why don't you, Bets?” Henry teased uneasily.
”What other problem?” Lysander finally spoke, his voice nervous.
Henry sighed, ”You may want to sit down for this one, brother.”
”Throw me under the bus, why don't you, Bets?” Henry teased uneasily.
”What other problem?” Lysander finally spoke, his voice nervous.
Henry sighed, ”You may want to sit down for this one, brother.”
Betty stood in between the two boys.
Lysander raised a brow, wondering if he wanted to know what could be more surprising then what had already been said but sat down all the same.
Henry rubbed his neck nervously. ”Now, I know she's meant to be your Eternal and I respect that, but she showed me a vision of me and her saying ”I love you” to each other.”
She looked at Charles, ¨Can One Have Two Eternals¨ she asked.
Charles placed a hand on Lysander’s shoulder to keep him from reacting badly. ”I’m afraid not, my girl. Having two Eternal’s is like having two soulmates. You can love two people but you can not be in love more than one person.”
¨Then How Do I find out¨ she asked.
Charles gave her a sympathetic look. ”You’re an Oracle, so you're a special case but if you need time to discover for yourself, then we can give you time.”
”He doesn't mean turn you, Betty, he means that you can spend time with both of us if it’ll help.” Henry explained. ”I know I can be patient and Ly is usually more so than I am on a lot of things.”
¨I Just Need Time Henry I ´ve spent Have Of my Life With you And Lysander You support me and defend me¨ she said.
”Of course I will.” both Henry and Lysander said, at the same time before staring at each other in surprise.
Henry was the first to break the awkward silence between them. ”Wow. That's the first time we've agreed like that since World War Two.” he snickered.
Lysander gave a weak smile and a small nod at the reminder. He hated remembering past battles like that but that was the most recent time the two of them had gotten along. ”I…” he sighed and looked at Betty. ”I don't want to make you feel like you have to live in a gilded cage with me. I can wait for your decision.” he agreed softly.
¨Still keeping the beanie¨ she said.
Henry laughed. ”Go ahead. It looks better on you, anyway.” he smiled.
”Don’t think this is going to cancel your trip, Henry.” Charles reminded him. ”But I may consider shortening the duration of it.”
Betty sighed turning around she hugged Henry and she didn´t care who saw.
Henry was surprised by the sudden gesture but soon returned it. ”Hey, I said I’d stay in touch while I was gone.”
Lysander tried not to react as they held each other, though his stomach did churn a bit uncomfortably as the small weight in his pocket felt a premature gift.
¨Please do¨ she said ¨Your my best friend¨ she said.
Henry smiled at her as he, regrettably, pulled back. ”I will. I promise.”
Lysander felt a small bit of hope at her calling Henry her best friend but kept a calm expression, not wanting to impose on their brief goodbye.
She let go of him and walked over to Lysander.
”I should finish packing real quick.” Henry explained and headed towards his room.
Lysander stood back up and gave Betty a small smile.
She smiled ¨Let´s go home¨ she said.
”If you're ready.” Lysander smiled bigger and nodded, happy she thought of his house as her home. ”You may want to hold on to the hat or you could lose it.” he cautioned.
”You two take care of each other.” Charles advised as he left.
¨it´s a beanie¨ she said putting it in her pocket.
Lysander rolled his eyes, still smiling. ”It’s still a hat. But if it means that much to you, I don't want you to lose it.” Besides, you look adorable in it.
she rolled her eyes playfully ¨Henry said I Looked cute¨ she said.
Lysander raised a brow at that since he had very rarely heard Henry call anything cute before. ”And do you like being called cute?”
¨Eh I´m not that cute so-¨ she said.
He gently cupped her cheek. ”I think you're beautiful.”
